Chapter 4
Back home.
The Chicecreams in my hand had melted into a pathetic mess.
I tossed them into the trash and went to wash my hands.
The sight of myself in the bathroom mirror gave me a fright.
My hair was a messy bun, my face looked dull, and I had dark circles under my eyes.
Right in the center of my forehead was a bold, arrogant pimple.
If I had known I’d run into Jin Lan, I definitely would have put on some “femme fatale” makeup.
At the very least, I would have been running away gracefully in high heels.
I wouldn’t have looked so pathetic running away like that.
But then again, Jin Lan never really liked it when I wore heavy makeup.
On his eighteenth birthday.
The day we first started college, he was singing and drinking with friends in a private room.
My roommates pushed me inside.
I was wearing an off-the-shoulder top, a short skirt, and my lips were painted with shiny gloss.
Jin Lan didn’t even pay me any mind the entire time.
