Chapter 5

It wasn’t until I went to use the restroom in the private suite that someone knocked on the door.

I pulled my dress back on and went to open it, only for a figure to shove me straight back into the bathroom.

He lowered his head, cupped my face, and started gnawing at my neck.

His brows were furrowed in a fierce, irritated scowl. “Lin Qiqi, just try wearing an outfit like this again, I dare you.”

He grabbed a tissue and wiped the lipstick off my mouth, over and over, before leaning down to kiss me for a while longer.

After a long moment, he pulled away, the corners of his lips finally relaxing. “That looks much better.”

So childish, it was painful to watch.

And yet, looking at myself in the mirror now, the corners of my own mouth were curled up too.

I have no backbone.

I rubbed my cheeks and sighed.

Urgent knocking came from outside the door.

Along with the voice I both wanted to hear most and feared most at this very moment.

“Lin—Qi—Qi!

“Trying to hide from me, are you?”
