Before infiltrating the Chinese secondary base, Kim Seojun had told Major Lee Hyena and Private First Class Park Boseop.

“If I request support, I’d appreciate it if you intervened.”

Both nodded at those words.

Then, as soon as Kim Seojun entered the secondary base and began the operation, Lee Hyena, who was observing everything from a distance, communicated directly with Park Boseop through a private channel.

“Private First Class Park Boseop.”

“Private First Class Park Boseop!”

“I’m going in even if Sergeant Kim Seojun doesn’t request support.”

As soon as he heard that, Park Boseop replied without the slightest hesitation.

“Major Lee, I was thinking exactly the same thing.”

In other words, at that moment, both of them were prepared to enter the Chinese secondary base as soon as Kim Seojun failed to escape within the time limit or they lost contact with him.

There was nothing to think about.

To both of them, Kim Seojun was the person who had saved their lives.

And not just once.

He had done it several times.

They had long since been prepared to risk their lives for him.

“We have to rescue Sergeant Kim no matter what.”

At the same time, from both of their perspectives, the person they needed most to face the chaos currently unfolding on planet Amotia was Kim Seojun.

They both knew it.

A conspiracy far greater than what could be seen at first glance was unfolding on planet Amotia.

And to confront that unpredictable chaos, they needed someone like Kim Seojun.

“After all, he probably came here precisely for that.”

“That’s right.”

Of course, both of them were under the mistaken impression that Kim Seojun was a Psyker Agent sent by Korea and that this chaos was precisely the reason he had been sent.

In any case, being willing to give one’s life for someone like that was precisely what it meant to be a soldier.

And both of them were excellent soldiers.

“It’s a shame. Private First Class Park Boseop hasn’t even been able to receive his Psyker certification yet.”

Lee Hyena regretted that Park Boseop, despite having become a Psyker, still hadn’t been able to enjoy any of its benefits.

However, Park Boseop smiled at those words.

“If it weren’t for Sergeant Kim Seojun, the Mogdogs would have torn me apart and eaten me a long time ago.”

They had no reason to doubt or hesitate.

So they began the countdown.

Ten minutes!

If they still hadn’t heard from Kim Seojun after Stealth ended, they would immediately go in.

There was nothing complicated about it.

“I’ll open a path and go in to rescue him. Private First Class Park Boseop, you wait here, and when Sergeant Kim Seojun comes out, get him out of here.”

“Yes, ma’am!”

They only needed one thing.

To be prepared to sacrifice their lives.

Time gradually began to run out.

Meanwhile, they received no communication from Kim Seojun.

It wasn’t strange.

Kim Seojun was moving stealthily and would naturally try to avoid making any sound whenever possible.

However, the longer that silence continued, the more Lee Hyena’s and Park Boseop’s gazes changed.

Finally, when one minute remained, they received a transmission from Sergeant Kim Seojun.

— A small problem has come up. It may take me a while to escape.

As soon as they heard that, the two looked at each other.

— If anything happens, return to the Polish headquarters.

Upon hearing the words that followed, both nodded.

Immediately afterward, Park Boseop climbed onto the Wulong they had prepared, and Lee Hyena climbed on behind him.

Then they began the countdown.

As soon as it reached zero, Park Boseop immediately started the Wulong.

Whirrrrr!

The Wulong shot toward the Chinese secondary base.

“There!”

“It’s the enemy!”

The Chinese Space Marines guarding the exterior reacted.

The base was already plunged into chaos because of Kim Seojun’s attack, and orders had come from inside to remain alert for the possibility of further attacks or the arrival of enemy reinforcements.

That was why their reaction was inevitably quick.

They immediately pulled the triggers.

Without a doubt, it was a good response.

So good that a conventional hover bike would have been in danger.

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

However, the Wulong was extremely fast.

By the time the first shots began raining down, it had already passed them.

At the same time, Lee Hyena jumped off the Wulong.

Thud!

As soon as she landed, she ran toward the Chinese Space Marines who were turning around and swung her axe.

Crack!

With a single attack, she smashed their heads apart.

After finishing off the four Space Marines guarding the exterior that way, Lee Hyena began walking toward the entrance.

She made no attempt to hide.

This wasn’t simply an attack.

It was a support operation intended to increase Kim Seojun’s chances of survival, even if only slightly.

And what Lee Hyena had to do was make the enemy forces focus all their attention on her.

“Come at me!”

That was why Lee Hyena deliberately revealed her presence.

At that instant, Park Boseop shouted from behind her.

“Major! Someone’s approaching!”

“How many?”

“One!”

As soon as she heard that, Lee Hyena was certain.

“A Psyker.”

The moment she reached that conclusion, she gripped her axe with both hands.

The appearance of a Psyker didn’t frighten her.

Rather, she welcomed it.

As long as she kept the Chinese Psyker occupied, Kim Seojun would have more time.

“He’s approaching really fast! He’s almost here!”

At Park Boseop’s next words, Lee Hyena tensed her entire body like a bullet ready to be fired at any moment.

Finally, even Lee Hyena could see him.

Something was approaching at a run.

As soon as she saw him, Lee Hyena immediately lunged forward and closed the distance in a single burst.

At the same time, she raised her axe high.

It was then.

“Huh?”

“Huh?”

The two recognized each other, and at that instant, Lee Hyena spoke in complete surprise.

“Sergeant Kim Seojun?”

As soon as he heard those words, Kim Seojun immediately understood the situation.

With his helmet on, he spoke.

“You two, disconnect the private channel.”

He had realized that Park Boseop and Lee Hyena were communicating through a private channel.

He also knew why they had maintained that communication while excluding him.

‘I told them not to come rescue me, but they came anyway.’

The two had been willing to disobey his orders.

That was why Kim Seojun didn’t waste time saying anything unnecessary.

“We’re retreating immediately.”

“Ah, understood.”

Lee Hyena replied in confusion and began retreating together with Kim Seojun.

Park Boseop, who remained on the Wulong, also widened his eyes in surprise when he saw them appear.

Kim Seojun climbed onto the Wulong and told him.

“Go as fast as you can, even if one of us ends up falling off along the way!”

“Yes, sir!”

Upon hearing that, Park Boseop began driving the Wulong.

Vroooom!

Naturally, it didn’t take long for pursuers to appear.

Five hover bikes emerged behind them and began rapidly closing the distance with the Wulong.

“Catch them! Catch them no matter what!”

Considering the Wulong’s specifications, it normally would have been impossible to catch up with it.

However, it was now carrying no fewer than three people.

From Park Boseop’s perspective, it was impossible to accelerate to maximum speed.

But there was no problem.

“This distance will be enough.”

As soon as they managed to put enough distance between themselves and their pursuers, Kim Seojun jumped directly off the Wulong.

Then he raised his Gauss weapon and pulled the trigger five times.

Then they heard it.

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!

The sound of the five hover bikes speeding forward being destroyed.

“We’re heading back.”

The operation was over.

After taking down the Chinese hover bikes, Kim Seojun’s group got moving again.

They didn’t stop until approximately three hours later.

“I don’t hear anything.”

“We’ll set up the air tent.”

“Yes!”

At those words, Park Boseop activated the air tent kit.

“I’ll help you.”

“Thank you, ma’am!”

Lee Hyena approached to help Park Boseop.

Kim Seojun merely watched them.

It wasn’t because he held a higher rank.

At that moment, Kim Seojun simply didn’t have enough physical or mental strength to do anything properly.

It was natural.

The side effects of the Stimpak were beginning to manifest.

The other two knew that as well, so they made no unnecessary comments.

“Sergeant Kim!”

As soon as they finished setting up the air tent, Park Boseop took Kim Seojun inside.

Then he helped him remove his suit.

Once it was off, Kim Seojun lay on the ground like a corpse.

At that moment, all the tension that had kept his body pushed to its limit began to fade away.

It seemed as though he could fall asleep at any moment.

That was precisely why he spoke.

“There’s something I have to tell you before I lose consciousness.”

Kim Seojun gathered his remaining strength to cling to consciousness and continued.

“First. The Chinese secondary base had much more developed infrastructure than it appeared to from the outside. Furthermore, it seemed intended to function as a laboratory.”

“A laboratory?”

“Second. China was conducting some kind of research there using a Lightweight-class Cyclops.”

“What?”

As soon as she heard that, Lee Hyena immediately reacted with surprise.

One of the duties of a Psyker Agent was precisely to detect and deal with those kinds of activities.

That was why she knew perfectly well just how insane that was.

For starters, conducting any kind of experiment on a Mog was prohibited under space law.

Even when experiments were conducted, they had to be carried out under the strict supervision of international organizations.

“Lightweight-class?”

And Kim Seojun wasn’t even talking about an ordinary Mog.

It was a special individual, and a Lightweight-class one at that.

Special individuals weren’t merely powerful; it was also impossible to determine beforehand what kinds of abilities they might possess.

Keeping one alive was already a crime in itself.

And they were secretly conducting research on it?

No matter how brazen China might be in matters like that, if this came to light, it could never be treated as a minor incident.

That was precisely why Kim Seojun was telling them.

Even if something happened to him, someone had to know what had happened and report it to their superiors.

That was how important the situation was.

“Third. It’s about the Thunderclap.”

Kim Seojun then mentioned the Thunderclap, and both of them paid attention.

It was then.

As he spoke, Kim Seojun closed his eyes, and his body went completely limp like a corpse.

Neither of them was surprised.

Kim Seojun had used a Stimpak and carried out a mission inside enemy territory under extreme tension.

It wouldn’t have been strange if he had lost consciousness at any moment.

Rather, what was surprising was that he had managed to hold out until then.

Above all, both of them knew what Kim Seojun had been trying to say.

That was why they let him rest peacefully.

Thanks to that consideration, Kim Seojun slept for no less than six hours before regaining consciousness.

“You’re awake, Sergeant Kim?”

Park Boseop greeted him cheerfully when he saw him wake up.

As soon as he saw him, Kim Seojun asked.

“How far did I get?”

“What?”

“How far did I get while talking?”

“Ah, well…… you were talking about the Thunderclap when you lost consciousness.”

Kim Seojun nodded.

“Lee Hyena?”

“She’s outside standing guard. One moment. Major Lee Hyena, Sergeant Kim is awake.”

As soon as he finished speaking, Lee Hyena immediately entered the air tent.

Kim Seojun looked at her and spoke.

“There’s something I have to tell you about the Thunderclap.”

Park Boseop smiled at those words.

“Sergeant Kim, you did a great job. You don’t have to worry so much. No matter how impressive it is, in the end, it’s still just a battle tank, right? A catastrophe isn’t going to happen just because they have one.”

“That’s right. When the time comes, we’ll be able to deal with it.”

Park Boseop and Lee Hyena believed that Kim Seojun had failed to destroy the Thunderclap.

It was natural.

Destroying something like a battle tank was extremely difficult.

And on top of that, Kim Seojun had barely had ten minutes.

Infiltrate the base, discover what they were doing, and also destroy the Thunderclap in only ten minutes?

It was impossible!

“The important thing is that you came back alive, Sergeant Kim!”

Kim Seojun frowned at those words.

“Huh?”

Park Boseop seemed to realize something when he saw him.

“D-Don’t tell me you managed to destroy the Thunderclap?”

“I couldn’t destroy it.”

Park Boseop became even more confused by that answer.

Just as he had expected, he hadn’t managed to destroy it.

Then why did Kim Seojun have that expression?

Kim Seojun immediately answered his doubt.

“Instead, I brought it with me.”

“What?”

“Instead of destroying it, I brought it with me.”

Park Boseop and Lee Hyena were left completely speechless.

They could only stare at him with stunned expressions.

Kim Seojun continued.

“There’s a risk that they can track its location, so I can’t show it to you here. When we reach the Polish headquarters, I’ll show it to you. That’s why we’re moving out immediately.”

As soon as he finished speaking, Kim Seojun’s group departed for the Polish headquarters.

“I’m glad you returned safe and sound!”

When they arrived, Major Jan Zabłocki, who had been waiting for them, greeted them cheerfully.

“If you need anything, anything at all, tell me!”

“We need a warehouse where we can prevent location tracking.”

“Location tracking?”

At Kim Seojun’s request, Major Jan Zabłocki immediately provided them with a place.

He took them to a warehouse designed to block signals and prevent any kind of tracking.

He had no particular doubts.

‘It seems they brought something that requires a lot of security.’

Considering the capabilities of Kim Seojun’s group, it wouldn’t be strange if they had recovered a Chinese supply crate or one belonging to some other country.

In other words, Major Jan Zabłocki was imagining something the size of a supply crate.

And he could only even imagine something like that because he knew Kim Seojun’s abilities.

In front of Major Jan Zabłocki and the others, Kim Seojun murmured quietly.

“Inventory.”

After entering his Inventory, Kim Seojun showed it to everyone.

Rrrrrumble!

“Huh? Huh? Huh? W-Wait a moment! I-Is that……? I-Isn’t that a Thunderclap?”

The battle tank considered the greatest mistake China had ever produced.

The Thunderclap.
