Got a Gallery in the Wild
I barely managed to immobilize my dangling arm and returned to the cave.
When I got back, I saw Wonmo pacing back and forth.
It seemed he had been worried about me this whole time.
“Kkyuu! Kkyuu!”
Wonmo greeted me enthusiastically when he saw me return injured.
I would have liked to hug him with both arms, but with one of them in this state, it was impossible.
“Wonmo, wait a moment. I need to fix my arm first.”
“Kkyuu!”
Wonmo answered energetically and stepped back a little.
Our good Wonmo really knows how to listen.
I let out a small laugh and carefully lowered my arm.
The first thing was to take off the shield.
I had suffered many injuries before, but this was the first time I had broken an arm, so I had no idea what to do.
‘What if I pour the elixir on it without knowing anything and the bone fuses incorrectly?’
That was my biggest concern.
My ribs hadn’t been shattered to that extent.
I think it would be best to immobilize it with a splint first.
With only one working arm, I searched for a suitable wooden board.
It would be enough to cut one of the logs I had prepared for the campfire.
‘And buy some cloth from the gallery.’
After that, all that remained was to place the splint and tie it.
The problem was that I only had one functional arm.
“Excuse me, Mr. Sloth.”
“……”
“Give me a hand. Look at the state of my arm.”
So I asked Sloth for help.
Maybe he couldn’t tie it, but he could at least hold the cloth.
Sloth looked at me silently and then held the cloth just as I asked.
Thanks to that, I was able to improvise a splint using a piece of wood and cloth.
But that was only a temporary solution.
The real healing would come from the elixir.
Title) I completely wrecked my arm.
WildGrills
(Photo of an arm immobilized with a splint)
I messed up my arm fighting the gorilla leader. Thank goodness he spared my life, otherwise I’d be dead lol.
Can I pour the elixir directly onto my arm? I immobilized it first with a splint in case the bone fused crooked.
└HeavenlyDemon: Was that monkey strong?
└WildGrills: Ridiculously strong. He broke my arm even though I blocked with my shield. And he didn’t even punch. He just rested his fist on it.
└HeavenlyDemon: He just rested it there and still broke your arm?
└WildGrills: Yeah. He literally just went tap.
└HeavenlyDemon: He can even use Penetrating Force? His level is extraordinarily high. I truly did not expect this.
└WildGrills: On top of that, I cut him with my sword and he vanished like a mirage only to appear right behind me.
└HeavenlyDemon: He also mastered Shifted Phantom Position? How surprising. That individual showed you mercy.
└Swordmaster: It’s honestly a miracle you’re still alive. If that gorilla had been serious, you would have died in less than a second.
└WildGrills: Even after I ambushed him, he blocked my sword with his fingers. The moment I saw that, I thought I was screwed.
└Swordmaster: How many fingers?
└WildGrills: Three.
└Swordmaster: I suppose he used three because it was you. For most people, one would be enough.
└WildGrills: The effect of the sword HeavenlyDemon gave me probably played a part too.
└What kind of gorilla uses Penetrating Force and Shifted Phantom Position? I won’t believe it until I see it.;
└Well, he talks like a person. Maybe it really is possible.
└Honestly, that sounds like a lie. You might as well say he fired an energy wave.
└WildGrills: I don’t know about energy waves, but the forest got destroyed. I’ll show you later.
└What? Did he really fire an energy wave? Hahaha.
└Not even the monkeys from legends do things like that hahaha.
└There are monkeys in legends too?
└It’s a Zhongyuan legend. It’s about a monkey that became a spiritual being by imitating humans.
└Oh. That sounds interesting.
└StarlightPrincess: Was the arm completely broken?
└WildGrills: Yes. It’s hanging. Can I use the elixir like this? I immobilized it first because I was afraid the bone would heal incorrectly.
└StarlightPrincess: You did the right thing. It’s quite common for bones to become misaligned. The torso receives the effects of the elixir even when you drink it, but the limbs do not.
└WildGrills: What if I make an incision with a knife and pour the elixir inside? Would it heal faster?
└StarlightPrincess: I’ll just give you a syringe. When I was sick, I used one frequently.
└WildGrills: Thank you very much. Is there anything you want in return? It’ll be difficult for me to go out today, but I could compensate you tomorrow.
└StarlightPrincess: Just stay alive. You look more and more like a fly that could die at any moment.
└WildGrills: Understood.
The syringe resembled the ones I knew, though it was also different.
The shape was practically the same.
However, both the material and the size were completely different.
Especially the size.
The body was fairly thick, although the needle was relatively small.
‘If the needle had been huge too, ugh.’
I filled the syringe with elixir and checked that it worked properly.
A golden liquid slowly began to emerge from the tip of the needle.
That would be enough.
Immediately afterward, I stuck the needle into the area where my arm was broken and injected all the contents.
‘I look like a drug addict taking a hit.’
The refreshing sensation characteristic of the elixir began spreading through me, and the pain gradually decreased.
I could even feel the bones fitting back into place.
It seemed to have recovered considerably.
Even so, I planned to keep the splint on for at least a day.
I had heard that the aftereffects of a fracture could be quite severe.
‘Thank goodness I survived.’
I took a sip of elixir and looked up at the ceiling.
I thought the Four Seasons Forest would be easier than its reputation suggested.
What a mistake.
I simply hadn’t encountered an anomaly like the gorilla leader before.
Even the saber-toothed tiger would be nothing more than a cat in front of him.
‘That means there are monsters as strong as that gorilla, right?’
How strong would they be?
The thought scared me a little.
I didn’t even have to look far for examples.
There were the giant crab and lobster that looked like they had come straight out of a monster movie.
But they were easy to avoid because they lived in other areas and were enormous.
The real problem was creatures like the gorilla leader.
Relatively small beings that lived nearby.
“……”
As I thought about all that, my eyes landed on Sloth.
That guy who had remained watching even when I was on the verge of death.
I didn’t know whether it was because he had calculated that the personal guards would intervene as well if he joined the fight.
Or if he simply knew that the gorilla leader would spare my life.
Whatever the reason, it was clear that he had some kind of relationship with the gorilla leader.
“Sloth.”
“……”
“Can you use that thing they call Shifted Phantom Position too, or whatever it is? You know, disappearing and suddenly appearing somewhere else.”
Nod.
Sloth responded simply by moving his head.
I nodded as well.
It had definitely been a good decision to keep offering him tributes.
‘Now that I think about it…’
The next thing that caught my attention after Sloth was the bananas.
The bunch that the gorilla leader had thrown to me as an apology.
More precisely, it was three clusters of bananas joined together, almost like a complete package.
With that, I could forget about food for a while.
Or use them as a snack.
‘I’ll try one.’
I was feeling depressed, so something sweet would do me good.
I picked up a banana.
And not just for myself.
I also grabbed some for Sloth and Wonmo.
“Here. Eat.”
“Kyuuu!”
“……”
My animal companions started eating the bananas in their own ways.
Wonmo, unable to resist anything sweet, practically buried his face in them.
Sloth, on the other hand, simply stared at them.
Maybe he felt uncomfortable eating something that came from an enemy.
Although, seeing that he was peeling one, he didn’t seem to dislike them either.
‘It’s been a long time since I’ve eaten bananas.’
With only one arm, I struggled to peel it.
I would have liked to use my left hand, but I preferred not to take the risk.
Munch— Munch—
“……Oh?”
The moment I took the first bite, a sweetness like honey flooded my mouth.
It also had the characteristic aroma of a banana.
It was literally a banana as sweet as honey.
No wonder Wonmo had buried his face in them.
It was the kind of flavor that brought happiness.
‘How can it have this much sugar?’
Bananas that had grown while absorbing enormous amounts of mana.
Not even Southeast Asian bananas would be this sweet.
And on top of that, they were huge.
Each one was the size of my forearm.
While greedily devouring the banana, I tried to calm my mind.
‘At least he gave me something good.’
Of course, it was still incomparable to fasting pills.
At first, I thought he was simply telling me to take these and get lost.
But seeing how delicious they were, it seemed he had genuinely tried to offer the best thing he had.
How was he supposed to obtain something as nutritious as fasting pills out here?
Medicinal herbs are one thing.
Fasting pills are food created by humans through the combination of numerous herbs.
“Nom nom nom.”
Wonmo even ate the peels.
More than worrying about the bitter taste, I was worried he’d end up with diarrhea.
I leaned against the cave wall and glanced at my broken arm.
No matter how many times I thought about it, it still seemed unbelievable.
That gorilla had simply rested his fist against my shield.
And yet he had broken my arm.
Would I ever be capable of doing something like that?
Just learning through gallery posts seemed impossible.
‘Wait a second. Now that I remember…’
It was right before the gorilla leader launched that final attack.
When I pushed my survival instinct to its limit and my concentration reached its peak.
I remembered how the aura that had previously flickered like flames had gradually begun to condense and take shape.
‘I need to practice before I forget that feeling.’
I still remembered it.
The impact had been too intense.
I immediately picked up HeavenlyDemon’s sword and summoned the aura.
When I infused a small amount of mana into it, an aura resembling mist appeared.
If I added a little more, it began to ripple like flames.
‘Let’s try to remember that feeling little by little.’
The sensation of that invisible pressure crushing my body.
The desperation that drove me to bite my own tongue just to escape it.
I hadn’t managed to complete it.
But simply finding a clue was enough.
Woooong— Woom— Woooong—
Even so, it was still difficult.
The aura refused to condense.
However, from time to time, I could see the flames diminishing.
It wasn’t because I was using less mana.
On the contrary.
I kept forcing more and more mana into it.
And yet the aura was shrinking.
It still didn’t have a complete form.
But even that represented enormous progress.
‘The problem is that there’s too much aura and it’s difficult to control.’
I suppose I’ll get results if I keep practicing little by little.
I set the sword aside and entered the gallery.
As soon as I logged in, I saw everyone talking about me.
That the gorilla speaking was obviously fake.
That I was lying.
And things like that.
‘I knew this would happen, which is why I recorded everything, you bastards.’
So I uploaded all the videos in which the gorilla had spoken.
HeavenlyDemon had translated everything.
But there were still too many people who refused to believe it.
‘Besides, editing and AI don’t exist here.’
Though if they did, that would be interesting too.
I glanced through the comments.
└ What’s this about manipulating the translations?
└ Son of a…
└ B…
└ itch.
“……”
Or maybe not?
In the end, people were the same everywhere.
