Got a Gallery in the Wild
Seeing a fish swimming freely through the air like the Celestial Whale, I couldn’t help but stand there with my mouth hanging open.
The Celestial Whale was a mythical creature, so I could accept that as something mysterious.
I would have even understood if it had crawled across the ground flopping around like a lungfish.
But what I was seeing now completely surpassed all those expectations.
If this world were a video game, it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that a bug had just occurred.
Blub! Blub!
The fish swam smoothly as if the air were water.
Then what the hell did it need gills for? And what were its fins for?
The Celestial Whale already defied the very existence of physics, but this guy took it one step further.
Title) What the hell is this guy?
WildGrills
(Video of a fish flying through the sky)
Do fish that fly through the sky also exist here?
ㄴHeavenly Demon) After gorillas learned martial arts, now even fish have learned to walk through the void.
ㄴWildGrills) What’s walking through the void?
ㄴHeavenly Demon) It’s the ability to fly through the air like the fish you’re looking at. At a minimum, one must reach the Transformation Realm to perform it.
ㄴSwordmaster) Why don’t you keep it as a display piece? I’m curious how long it’ll keep flying.
ㄴWildGrills) I need to eat too, you know?
ㄴDwarfPassingBy) Hey. Upload more videos. I won’t believe it until you post a few more.
ㄴWildGrills) And yet you believe in the Celestial Whale?
ㄴDwarfPassingBy) At least that one appears in myths. I’ve never even heard rumors about something like this haha.
ㄴWildGrills) (Video of the flying fish 1) (Video of the flying fish 2) How about now?
ㄴDwarfPassingBy) Oh;; Do you have any idea why it’s happening? It can’t be doing that for no reason.
ㄴWildGrills) It ate the Celestial Whale ambergris I used as bait. I think that’s what caused the change.
ㄴAllFather) Since we’re on the subject, how about you take a bite too, Mr. Grills? It gives off a rather pleasant scent, so it probably tastes good as well.
ㄴWildGrills) Bro;;
ㄴIf you think that, then eat it yourself. Why are you telling Grills to do it? lmao
ㄴWouldn’t that basically be like eating curry-flavored shit?
ㄴLiterally curry-flavored shit lol.
Although AllFather spent a moment spouting nonsense, I was more or less able to identify the cause.
The ambergris I had used as bait.
There was no other plausible explanation.
Unless it was that, there was no reason for that fish to be flying through the sky.
And more importantly.
‘Can I eat this?’
That was the real question.
Could I eat it safely?
What if it didn’t just upset my stomach, but made me float through the air too?
But I couldn’t just leave it alone either.
It might attract the attention of other animals.
If I couldn’t eat it, then the proper thing to do would be to release it for safety’s sake.
Just as I was about to return it to the river.
Smack!
“Guek?!”
The moment I tried to touch it, the fish smacked me across the face with its tail.
The force was so brutal that I heard a crack in my neck.
Fortunately, none of my vertebrae had broken; it had only made a sound.
More importantly, the cheek that had been hit stung horribly.
What kind of strength did its tail have?
‘Did it get stronger after eating whale shit?’
So many absurd things had happened to me that the hypothesis sounded surprisingly reasonable.
Then how the hell was I supposed to bring it down?
After thinking for a moment, I threw myself on top of the fish.
No matter how much it ignored gravity, if I crushed it from above, it should fall.
Flap! Flap-flap-flap!
“Uwaaaaaah?!”
Or so I thought.
But no.
It didn’t descend at all.
The moment I grabbed it, it began swimming powerfully.
It moved so fast that the scenery changed before my eyes at a dizzying speed.
I was afraid I’d end up falling somewhere strange, so I reacted desperately.
Thud! Thud!
I punched the fish on the head repeatedly.
If you hit any animal on the head, it should at least get dizzy.
Hadn’t I knocked out other fish the same way?
And just as I expected, it didn’t take long before the fish lost consciousness and went completely limp.
Naturally, my body also began plummeting downward.
Crash! Thump!
I rolled several times and didn’t stop until I slammed into a tree.
My entire body hurt.
I frowned, brushed the dust from my eyes, and opened them.
The unconscious fish was twitching on the ground.
And standing at the entrance to the shelter were my animal companions watching me.
They all had the same expression.
‘What the hell were you doing?’
I could understand Lackey and Sloth reacting that way, but even Baby Raccoon was looking at me like that.
It was embarrassing.
‘This fish is dangerous.’
Who knew what would happen if I ate it.
Fortunately, it was already time for dinner, so I hurriedly butchered it.
I intended to keep only the Inner Core and throw away everything else.
But then.
‘The Inner Core is golden?’
There was something strange about it.
No.
Perhaps it would be more accurate to say it was extraordinary.
It shone with a dazzling golden glow, as if it had absorbed the exact color of the ambergris.
If I ate it, would I end up floating through the sky too?
If that was the case, I’d rather not touch it.
‘Should I give it to Sloth?’
I considered giving it to Sloth.
After all, if there was anyone capable of controlling it, it would probably be him.
“Do you want to eat it?”
“…….”
Sloth accepted the Inner Core without the slightest hesitation.
Then he examined it with his usual slow, deliberate movements before putting it into his mouth.
After all, when he didn’t have fasting pills, he usually fed mainly on Inner Cores, so there shouldn’t be any problem.
Float—
That’s what I thought.
But perhaps even for Sloth it was difficult to contain the energy of the Inner Core.
When he started slowly rising into the air, I hurriedly grabbed him by the shoulders.
However, he seemed perfectly fine. He even waved his arm as if telling me to take my hands off him.
Float— Float—
Sloth spent some time drifting around every corner of the shelter while levitating.
Fortunately, he seemed capable of controlling it.
Meanwhile, I finished eating together with my animal companions.
Ah, and by the way, I fed Lackey too.
Sloth had allowed it as well.
“Kyuu! Kyuuuuu!”
Wonmo, who had been far too busy eating, started jumping around excitedly when he saw Sloth.
It seemed like he wanted him to fly too.
That’s why he’s so adorable.
But if Wonmo climbed onto Sloth’s back, he’d probably come crashing down immediately.
Even though he was still a cub, he was still an Owlbear, so the size difference was simply too great.
“Kieee! Kiee!”
“Kiee!”
So instead, I placed a baby raccoon that was just as adorable as Wonmo on him.
The little baby raccoon smiled happily the moment he climbed onto the floating Sloth.
Below them, Dad Raccoon wore an amused expression, while Mom Raccoon looked rather worried.
“Kyuu! Kyu!”
On the other hand, Wonmo sulked when he realized he was the only one who couldn’t climb on.
Seeing such a round little creature hiding in a corner was one of the most adorable things in the world.
I walked over to Wonmo, who was expressing a very clear ‘I’m angry’ with his entire body.
“Wonmo, don’t be angry. When I can fly, I’ll take you with me. Okay?”
“Kyuu……”
After a great deal of effort, I finally managed to calm him down.
A little later, Sloth landed as well.
“Can you fly whenever you want?”
“……”
When I asked him, he shook his head.
Apparently, there was some kind of time limit.
If that limitation didn’t exist, I could escape from here immediately as well.
‘Should I eat it too…?’
I haven’t even finished mastering the cold yet.
It would be a clear case of overreaching.
Besides, I’m not even sure I could absorb it properly.
Sloth ate it because his instincts are much sharper than mine, and he knew it wasn’t dangerous.
