Got a Gallery in the Wild
While Tyran was enjoying his stay at Grills’ shelter.
Boom! Bang!
The dragon spent the entire day locked in a fight to the death against a gigantic white serpent.
That enormous white serpent was every bit as formidable as its size and presence suggested.
A mouth capable of swallowing even a dragon whole in a single bite.
Venom powerful enough to melt even the hardest bedrock.
Scales and skin capable of enduring most attacks with ease.
And agility completely unfitting for such a colossal body.
With all of those qualities combined, the battle between them became a duel between true titans.
The battle between the dragon, the mightiest creature on the surface, and a white serpent capable of rivaling it.
It was a fight where both wagered their lives, and it seemed endless.
BOOOOOM!!!
When the serpent’s neck was torn through by more than half and its enormous body crashed to the ground, the long battle finally came to an end.
They had fought for more than half a day.
The white serpent’s condition was horrifying.
Not only was its neck practically destroyed.
Its head had also suffered devastating damage.
One of its eyes hung from its socket, and its massive jaw had been torn apart so badly that it barely remained attached.
The instant the serpent opened its jaws to bite, the dragon seized the opportunity and completely shattered its jaw.
“Grrrrr… Grrr…”
But the dragon wasn’t in good condition either.
Since the battle had been completely even, its body was also covered in countless wounds, both large and small.
The most severe injury was one of its forelegs.
Its right foreleg had been completely torn off, and blood continued to pour from the wound.
And its wings?
They were completely shredded.
It couldn’t even fly anymore.
But even more serious than its injuries was the venom.
Even for a dragon, the white serpent’s venom was lethal.
It was barely managing to stay alive.
“Grrrr…”
The dragon repeatedly confirmed that the serpent was truly dead before slowly turning its head.
It looked toward the place where what it treasured enough to die for was waiting.
Its hatchling.
But it knew that if it went there in its current condition, it would exhaust the little strength it had left and die.
It wanted to go immediately.
However, it suppressed that urge.
Its little one was safe.
‘Please…’
The dragon slowly closed its eyes and began recovering.
No creature could survive in that savage land without the help of its parents.
That was why it had temporarily entrusted its hatchling to Grills.
It didn’t understand why, but he had protected the little one.
And if one day he ever harmed it, there would always be time to take revenge then.
Dragons possessed intelligence comparable to that of humans.
And because of that, it chose to gamble on the option with the highest chance of success.
Swoosh.
The dragon’s eyes slowly began to close.
Its severed foreleg and the torn membranes of its wings gradually began to regenerate.
It would take at least several days to recover completely.
Praying that its hatchling would remain safe and unharmed until then, the dragon finally closed its eyes.
‘Now that I think about it that human…’
Just before its consciousness faded completely, it remembered the strange human.
That man was unsettlingly different.
It couldn’t understand why someone like him lived in that forest.
‘When I wake up… I’ll speak… with… him…’
With that final thought, the dragon’s consciousness vanished completely.
And although the dragon fell into a deep sleep.
Crack… Crack…
Its body continued to regenerate.

Day 33 of Survival.
Since I spent the entire day working, the hours flew by.
By evening, I also received the rice seeds from HeavenlyDemon.
Other than that, nothing particularly noteworthy happened.
When I woke up in the morning, I wondered if Tyran’s mother had come during the night, but there wasn’t a trace of her.
The only difference was that the weather had become a little colder.
“Kyuuuu~ Kyuu~”
“Peep! Peep!”
Even though the temperature had dropped, the little ones were still playing nonstop.
That said, there was one thing different from the day before.
A ball.
Wonmo and Tyran were happily playing with a ball that looked like a soccer ball.
‘I gave it to them just to see what would happen, and they seem to love it.’
Of course, I had also gotten the ball from DemonPrincess.
And she sent me one that looked pretty expensive.
The condition was very simple.
She only wanted photos or videos of the two of them playing together.
And that was exactly what I intended to do.
‘First I’ll have to build them a goal.’
I quickly made one out of a few logs.
There was no need to put much effort into it.
Then I explained the rules to Wonmo and Tyran.
They were very simple.
Whoever got the ball between the two goalposts won.
“Kyuuuu!”
“Peeeeep! Peep!”
The two of them immediately started playing with incredible enthusiasm.
Meanwhile, I took pictures and recorded a few videos.
Just watching them was heartwarming.
But I was even more curious about how the Gallery would react.

Thank you very much, DemonPrincess.
Thanks to you, the little ones are having so much fun!
ㄴHeavenlyDemon) Little ones should grow up while playing. It’s such a heartwarming sight.
ㄴSwordmaster) When I was in the army, we played soccer all the time. Seeing it here feels pretty strange.
ㄴHeavenlyDemon) Why do you play soccer in the army? I really don’t understand.
ㄴSwordmaster) I don’t know either. We just do. And even if it’s not soccer, as long as there’s a ball, people will play anything.
ㄴYeah, Swordmaster’s right. It doesn’t matter if they’re knights or soldiers; give them a ball, and they’ll entertain themselves. Hahaha.
ㄴThat’s the military for you. The older you get, the better you become at footvolley. Hahaha.
ㄴIn the military, the ones who are good at soccer or footvolley are the kings. ;;
ㄴSuspiciously) Don’t you play rugby or American football? We do.
ㄴI guess they play rugby too. But that mostly depends on people’s preferences.
ㄴYeah. Besides, you have to play American football while wearing armor. ;;
ㄴBasically, if they get permission, they’ll play just about any sport that involves a ball.
ㄴNo one can resist getting leave. Hahaha.
ㄴDemonPrincess) They’re having so much fun! Just as expected from Chayu’s future mascots!
ㄴWho decided they’d be the mascots?
ㄴDemonPrincess) (Photo of Wonmo wearing a uniform) After seeing this, can you still say that?
ㄴHahaha, you can tell she’s been saving that photo for a long time.
ㄴHonestly, he’s way too adorable. Hahaha.
ㄴPut Tyran in a uniform too.
ㄴNo! Not Tyran!
ㄴAren’t there already teams whose symbol is a dragon?
ㄴLots of countries and territories use dragons as their emblem. ;;
ㄴIf you do that, you’re going to get hit with a massive lawsuit. Hahaha.
ㄴBut can they really sue Grills?
ㄴNot him. But Chayu would probably end up getting dragged into it. Hahaha.
ㄴKingLeor) Don’t put something so vulgar on a sacred dragon. Put him in our uniform instead. ;;
ㄴDemonPrincess) Put him in that stinky chicken-head uniform? No way!
ㄴKingLeor) It’s not a chicken, it’s a hawk! Are you blind?
ㄴDemonPrincess) I think Coach Leor is the one who needs to get his eyes checked!
ㄴKingLeor) Damn it.
ㄴHahahahaha.
ㄴHahahahaha.
ㄴHahaha.
ㄴLately DemonPrincess keeps embarrassing KingLeor. Hahaha.
ㄴMakes sense. Chayu has already climbed to fifth place in the rankings. Hahaha.
ㄴSunForEver) Why am I the only one without a dragon!? Why am I the only one without a dragon!? Why am I the only one without a dragon!? Why am I the only one without a dragon!?
ㄴNot having one is the normal thing. ;
ㄴIt’s not like everyone has a dragon. Hahaha.
ㄴIf anyone could raise a hatchling, the world would’ve ended already. Hahaha.
ㄴI’d rather raise Wonmo than Tyran.
ㄴYeah, me too. Honestly, Wonmo seems much gentler than Tyran. Hahaha.
ㄴGentle? When he’s hungry, he eats his owner.
ㄴBurp. Hahaha.
ㄴHahahaha.
ㄴHahahaha.
Just as I expected, the reaction was explosive.
Just reading the comments made me smile.
I looked away from the Gallery and turned toward Wonmo and Tyran.
“Kyuuuaaah!!”
“Peeeeep!!”
In the brief moment I looked away, the two of them had already started fighting.
They were rolling around on the ground completely tangled up with each other, like a ball.
Seeing that, I hurried over in alarm and barely managed to pull them apart.
“Why are you fighting!? Friends aren’t supposed to fight!”
“Kyuu! Kyukyukyukyu! Kyukyu!”
“Peep! Peeppeep! Peeeeep!”
I couldn’t understand a single thing they were saying.
But judging by how agitated they were, it was obvious they were both genuinely angry.
In the end, I called our official animal language translator.
Lackey.
First, I listened to Wonmo’s side of the story.
“It was his turn to score. But Tyran stole the ball.”
“And what does Tyran say?”
“If you steal it, it becomes yours. That’s normal.”
“I see.”
So the problem was mine.
I had explained the rules far too vaguely.
After understanding the whole situation, I calmly scolded them.
I explained that it was all my fault for giving poor instructions.
And that if they argued again, they should come tell me first.
“But! I can’t forgive pecking or biting each other. Neither of you gets a snack today.”
“Kyuuuu!?”
“Peeeeep!?”
“Why are you making those faces? Punishments are necessary too.”
The moment they heard there would be no snacks, both Wonmo and Tyran looked completely devastated.
But every now and then, a lesson like this was necessary.
If I spoiled them too much, they might grow up the wrong way.
“Kieee!”
“Ah, you’re here.”
Just as Wonmo and Tyran were completely dejected.
Dad Raccoon showed up after a long absence.
I knew he’d been busy preparing for winter as well.
“So, what did you bring me this time?”
“Keeeh…”
Dad Raccoon was about to speak when he suddenly froze in place.
I could more or less guess what he had seen.
Most likely Tyran.
Since we were at it, I figured it wouldn’t be a bad idea to formally introduce him to the raccoon family.
“Ah, right. First of all, let me introduce him. His name is Tyran. As you can see, he’s a dragon hatchling.”
“K-Kieee…?”
Dad Raccoon looked at me with an expression that clearly said.
“A-a dragon?”
I gently patted his head to calm him down.
“He won’t hurt you, so don’t worry. You saw the dragon that came the other day too, right?”
“Kieee…”
“So you did see it. That dragon left his child in my care. I don’t know exactly why.”
After a lot of effort, I finally managed to calm Dad Raccoon down.
Although he was still frightened, he was much calmer than before.
That said, introducing Tyran to the rest of the raccoon family would have to wait.
There were still too many things to do.
But at least I could start preparing them little by little.
‘Hopefully the baby raccoons will get along with them too.’
That would come later.
First, I checked what Dad Raccoon had brought me.
It was an enormous seed.
At first glance, it looked like a coconut, but it was a seed.
It was almost three times the size of my fist.
In fact, it would make a perfectly good blunt weapon.
“What’s this? A seed?”
“Kieee!”
Dad Raccoon nodded enthusiastically with a huge smile.
I had no idea what kind of seed it was.
But I figured it was worth planting.
After all, Dad Raccoon had given it to me.
Nothing too strange could come out of it… right?
As a reward, I gave him a fasting pill and headed straight for the garden.
When I arrived, Ludwig was happily humming while using the threshing tool.
Beside him, Lackey was also working tirelessly.
I felt bad seeing him look so serious, so I had bought him a farmer’s hat.
And surprisingly, it suited him quite well.
“Sir. I’m going to plant this.”
“#%%?”
“I don’t know. Dad Raccoon gave it to me.”
Since the seed was much bigger than a fist, I had to dig a deeper hole.
I dug a hole with the shovel and buried it.
Covered it with soil.
Then watered it.
Now all that was left was to wait.
Rumble.
“Huh?”
It wasn’t long before the garden began to shake slightly.
Sensing the vibration, both Ludwig and Lackey stopped working.
The other animals also turned their attention toward it.
“……$%##$?”
“I-I don’t know. I just planted it…”
When Ludwig asked what on earth I had planted, all I could do was give him an awkward smile.
Soon afterward, the seed began to change.
First, a small sprout emerged.
At first, it was only a tiny shoot.
Whoooosh!
But that sprout continued growing without stopping until it became as thick as a tree trunk.
That alone made it obvious it wasn’t an ordinary plant.
But the real problem appeared with the fruit.
The fruit gradually grew until it reached the size of a house.
It was a bright orange color with a slightly rough surface.
“…A pumpkin?”
It was a pumpkin.
A gigantic pumpkin.
People say Cinderella went to the castle in a pumpkin carriage.
It was probably one about this size.
But the Forest of Four Seasons was far from being a fairy tale.
And why do I say that?
Craaaack.
Because the pumpkin slowly split open down the middle, revealing rows of shark-like sharp teeth inside.
At the same time, it sprouted eyes and a nose, making it look even more terrifying.
“Kyaaaaaaaah!!”
“…”
This wasn’t a fairy tale.
It was Halloween.
‘…What the hell did he give me?’
First, I’d have to defeat it.
After that, I’d think about everything else.
