Bai Man asked to meet her because Bai Qing still had other criminal evidence against Shen Jing.
Plus, Fu Jing and Shen Jing were sworn enemies.
All she did was to win Shen Jing’s favor.
I took her phone. “I’ll go meet her. She wants to kill me more than you.”
Bai Qing shook her head, gripping my hand tightly.
I patted her hand to comfort her. “Our Plan B depends on you, Bai Qing. Anyone can die, but you and Fu Jing can’t.”
She gritted her teeth, still not letting go.
I smiled, looking relaxed. “Are you silly? Have you forgotten that I can’t die?
“After the comic is finished, I can still go home.”
Bai Qing finally breathed a sigh of relief, but still worried, “Really?”
I nodded.
Once the comic was finished, I could go home with the comic manuscript.
But that was in the past.
Before my blood was drawn, I used to dream every night while holding the manuscript. In my dreams, there was a glowing door.
It was very warm.
That was the door home.
But ever since my blood was drawn.
Even with new drawings, I hadn’t dreamed of that warm yellow door for a whole year.
So, I wasn’t sure if I could still go back.
But none of that mattered anymore.
In short, Bai Qing couldn’t have any accidents, after all, the previous comic plot was entirely controlled by me.
Bai Qing and Fu Jing managed to live happily ever after until the end, they even went back to Beijing to get married and had a pair of adorable children.
And now, these plot developments were beyond my control.
I absolutely couldn’t let Bai Qing and Fu Jing take even the slightest risk.
Two days after arranging to meet Bai Man.
In the morning, Bai Qing made me breakfast: milk and fried eggs.
After we finished our milk, Bai Qing solemnly patted my hand.
“Xiao Man, I still can’t let you go alone. I added some sleeping medicine to the milk.
“Don’t worry, by the time you wake up, I’ll be back with A Jing.”
She stood up, and just as she picked up her gun, she swayed unsteadily. “What… what’s going on…”
I immediately stepped forward to catch her, helping her to the bed in the bedroom.
I gently comforted her, “How well do I know you? I guessed you’d definitely add medicine to the milk, so I swapped it out for you.”
Bai Qing ultimately couldn’t resist the effects of the medicine and fell asleep.
“Sweet dreams, Bai Qing.”
I took Bai Qing’s gun, quietly closed the door, and went to this perilous banquet alone.
