The next morning, I was woken up by Bai Qing’s voice in my earpiece.

“Manman!”

I opened my eyes to find Shen Jing still fast asleep, his messy bangs sticking up every which way.

He actually looked a little boyish.

Bai Qing was still calling my name. I quickly got up to head to the bathroom, planning to whisper back to her.

But the moment I moved, Shen Jing’s arm pulled me right back down.

Resting his chin in the crook of my shoulder, he mumbled sleepily, “It’s still early. Sleep with me a little longer.”

I gently pushed him away. “My stomach hurts a bit. I need to go to the bathroom.”

He opened his eyes, all sleepiness instantly vanishing, his face tense with worry. “Where does it hurt? Let me see.”

As he spoke, he started to lift the hem of my pajamas. Blushing furiously, I pushed him away. “No, I think… my period is here.”

He froze for a second, then let go.

I scrambled out of bed and rushed to the bathroom.
