Bai Qing shared my field of vision.

“…Are you okay, Manman?”

I shook my head.

She said, “We had someone tail Bai Man this afternoon and found her at a hotel, all dressed to the nines… turns out she was meeting Shen Jing.”

Shen Jing went inside, and I waited for a full hour, but he didn’t come out.

I suddenly realized something.

Why was I waiting for him?

Was I going to confront him?

Ask him if he and Bai Man had done something in there?

Did I actually still… have lingering feelings for him?

How pathetic.

The moment I realized this, I ran out of the hotel without looking back.

After I returned, close to dawn, he came back carrying the damp chill of the night air.

He stripped off his clothes, got into bed, and wrapped his arms around me from behind.

He smelled like he had just showered.

A wave of nausea surged within me.

Shen Jing held me for a while, and then, I felt something change in him.

He began to plant soft kisses along my back. I tried to pull away.

But his arms were like branding irons, tightening their grip around me.

His breath was ragged as he whispered, “I heard you took the car out earlier?”
