No One But You Can Be the Princess Royal Chapter 25

Chapter 25

Qin Luoke stood in the main hall, caressing her slightly rounded belly with a smile on her face. “I truly never expected that my sister and I would meet again in this lifetime.”

“Congratulations. I’ve met Han Su; he is a man of talent and character. You’ve found yourself a good home.”

Qin Xiyi’s words were sincere, yet Qin Luoke threw the teacup in her hand to the ground, splashing tea everywhere.

“Qin Xiyi, since you left, why did you have to take his heart with you?” Qin Luoke’s expression turned vicious, her eyes burning with unconcealable rage. “You’ve returned, but what about him? He’s become a traitor, reviled by all in the Zhao Kingdom. Qin Xiyi, are you feeling particularly smug? Particularly happy?”

Faced with this sudden accusation, Qin Xiyi’s expression remained unchanged; her heart and mind were entirely filled with the image of Cheng Mozhi.

If not for Qin Luoke’s relentless schemes, coercion, and entrapment, how could Cheng Mozhi have ended up imprisoned and nearly dead?

For an outsider who was the source of all this, she didn’t even feel like wasting a single word in rebuttal.

“The Second Princess is with child; you should return to your manor and rest. Anger harms the body—you must think of the baby in your womb!”

“Speaking of children, I’d actually like to see my little nephew, the one who is supposedly the Crown Prince of the Liang Kingdom!”

Qin Xiyi furrowed her brows. Her child was a line that could not be crossed, and she had lost all patience. “Qin Luoke, you and I have always kept to our own paths. You are not to touch my child!”

“Sister is as confident as ever!” Qin Luoke giggled. “It’s just a pity that the Liang Kingdom no longer exists, though the Crown Prince of Liang is still quite useful. Our Imperial Father treasures him dearly; after all, whether or not we can trade back the twelve prefectures of our Zhao Kingdom depends entirely on that little prince.”

Qin Luoke left, but Qin Xiyi could not sleep a wink that night.

She had thought that no matter how despicable her father was, he wouldn’t possibly lay a hand on her child—after all, he was his own grandson.

But there is no smoke without fire. Qin Luoke’s words left her tossing and turning.

Cheng Mozhi’s fate remained unknown, and now her child might be in danger as well.

That night, Qin Xiyi’s heart was thrown into complete turmoil.
