Reborn at Boot Camp: General, Don’t Mess Around!

Chapter 5511: Chapter 5511: Return Home

Ye Jian naturally sided with Old Madam Qin, as it concerned the elderly lady’s health; she definitely needed to keep a close watch.

“That’s right, that’s right, just like a child; you don’t get it yet, and you let us worry,” Grandma Qin said, laughing so hard she could hardly close her mouth. What a good child, truly worthy of being a descendant of the Fu family. Even though raised outside, she was top-notch.

Their grandson, alas, why was he always a step late?

Qin Xiu was tidying up a room downstairs. Old Master Qin and Old Madam had always lived upstairs, but when the doctor suggested that the elders move downstairs, Qin Xiu immediately complied and quickly arranged the room.

Now that with the three elders was Ye Jian, who had always been beloved by them, Qin Xiu felt very relieved.

They chatted until about three in the afternoon, and seeing that Qin Xiu had tidied up the room, grandfather and granddaughter headed home, all smiles.

When night fell and the big red lanterns outside were lit, Ye Jian suddenly heard the sound of a car in the Fu family courtyard, and as if by instinct, before the guard could open the door, she ran like a tornado towards the entrance.

“Hey, hey, slow down, slow down, don’t fall,” Old Man Xia, coming out of the kitchen, quickly cautioned her. Seeing that Ye Jian was headed towards the main entrance, he asked the security officer who had arrived.

The guard smiled and said, “A car stopped in the front yard, not sure who it is yet.”

As the front door opened, Ye Jian saw Chief Engineer Fu, travel-weary with luggage in hand, standing at the entrance, raising his hand in a motion to ring the doorbell.

“Dad!” Ye Jian jumped for joy, wearing only a thin sweater, bouncing in front of Chief Engineer Fu. Her girlish playfulness was on full display the moment she saw him—a child at that moment, happy and blissful.

Chief Engineer Fu was even more surprised; he really hadn’t expected that his daughter would be at home, too. He dropped his luggage to the ground and caught his daughter as she jumped into his arms, his laughter echoing with joy, “An Jiaxin! Oh, my precious daughter is also home for the Spring Festival! Hahaha, it’s a good thing dad got leave, or else I’d have missed it again!”

Seeing his daughter, Chief Engineer Fu’s eyes brimmed with excitement. His research task for the Spring Festival had come to a pause, and considering that it had been years since he spent the festival with his old father, he had applied for holiday leave for the Spring Festival and hurried back home.

He never expected that his beloved daughter would also have come home for the Spring Festival.

Old Man Xia, hearing the commotion and coming outside, saw the father and daughter still standing at the entrance. The tearful old man leaning on his cane thought, They’re back, they’re all back now.

“This year we can finally have a lively New Year. It won’t be just this lonely old man celebrating anymore. Li Jinnian should be almost home too; then it will truly be a reunion.”

Old Man Xia continued, “Rest of our lives, come inside quickly. Haven’t you noticed our little princess is dressed thinly? Hurry, come in first, then we can sit down and talk.” After saying this, he called out to Uncle Fu, who was busy in the kitchen, “Uncle Fu, quickly, cook a smoked fish for your big brother; he loves it the most!”

Uncle Fu, still stir-frying in the kitchen and not hearing anything, was informed by the security officer who jogged to the kitchen. Uncle Fu came out immediately with his spatula in hand, seeing Chief Engineer Fu, he raised the spatula as his hometown accent slipped out, “Ah, what a comfortable day! Rest of our lives, you must’ve come back just in time for dinner! Get one, I’ll make a smoked fish right now! It’s going to be delicious!”

Chief Engineer Fu happily nodded his head, “Good, good, good, I’ll have to trouble my big brother again! It’s not just coincidence, I timed it just right to come back for dinner!”
