Seven Days of Love Chapter 2

Chapter 2

In the backseat sat my long-lost ex-husband.

Jin Lan.

He had grown his hair out, with a few strands of black bangs hanging over his forehead.

His brows still carried that same sharp, rebellious edge.

A silver-grey, austere suit made him look even more like a refined scoundrel.

My heart skipped a beat, just like old times.

I suddenly felt like Wang Baochuan digging for wild vegetables.

Only I knew.

The teenage Jin Lan, with his buzz cut and silver hoop earring,

pinning me against the playground wall and kissing me with such intensity—it was unforgettable.

Back then, he’d lick his lips and say: “You looked at that guy next door twice today.”

“If you look again, you want to bet I’ll kiss you right in front of him?”

He was impossibly overbearing and chuunibyou.

At the time, I was absentmindedly counting the six-pack abs on his waist: “Then go ahead and gouge my eyes out, I can’t help myself.”

He’d exert a little force in his arms, lifting my waist and setting me on the ledge.

Eye level with me.

The boy’s dark, lustrous eyes held the moonlight, the stars, and my face.

That seven or eight parts of defiance softened just a little.

He’d kiss me again, humming softly: “I couldn’t bear to.”
