Seven Days of Love Chapter 7

Chapter 7

I thought about it, and he was right.

Jin Lan grabbed my arm and pulled me into the Civil Affairs Bureau.

Why did the divorce certificate have to be red, too? It’s such a heartbreaking moment, yet they use red to mask the sorrow.

Jin Lan held my hand, ignoring the surprised looks from the staff.

The two of us, a newly divorced couple, practically had to lean on each other to walk out of the bureau.

We stood by the car in front of the building.

He hadn’t shaved in days, and his eyes looked weary, no longer as bright as they used to be.

He looked at me one last time, then shoved his car keys and bank cards into my hands.

“The house deed has always been in your name.

“It’s all yours.”

He bent down, leaning in until his forehead pressed against mine.

His forehead was warm, but his nose was ice-cold.

“Lin Qiqi, don’t see me again after this.

“Take care of yourself.”

He gave me everything he had and walked away, heading in the opposite direction of home.

I reached out, but I couldn’t grab anything.

I sat on the flower bed and cried like a dog.

Jin Lan really didn’t want me anymore.
