Chapter 5
Zhiyuan’s shirt slipped down his arm, a bit slippery—couldn’t hold on, so I forced myself to strain.
He forced me to spit out those two words, my face burning from the effort.
“Toxic.”
He was fierce, pushing me to let go, water spraying my ears.
That feeling was unbearable, my mind spinning, unable to stand still.
So I clung to the last bit of grass, gripping his waist.
Thank you, Zhiyuan, for saving me—otherwise I’d be standing on my own.
Water stopped, but I couldn’t shake the urge to pull him down.
He grabbed my neck, forcing me to hold on.
My head spun, my brain fuzzy, trying to hold on.
“You’re filthy!”
He laughed, water dripping from his neck.
I gripped his back, trying to steady myself.
“Don’t look!”
Chapter 21 fever
Zhiyuan’s face was cold, yet his anger was raw.
He couldn’t bear the weight of his own panic.
“You’re so weak!”
I realized I’d lost control then.
He’d been dragged away, trapped.
My stomach churned, but I couldn’t hold it.
“You’re the reason I can’t sleep.”
He laughed, drenching my ears.
I stared at him, desperate.
“You’re so perfect!”
“No, I’m not!”
He snapped, slamming me against the wall.
He pulled me out, dragging me in.
Lastly, he grabbed my waistband, pulling me down.
My face burned, but I held on.
“You’re useless.”
I forced my eyes closed, clinging to his face.
“You’re the only one who understands.”
He laughed, shaking me.
“You’re a monster.”
My pulse raced, my mind blurred.
He was insane, but I couldn’t escape.
“You’re the only one who sees me.”
I trembled, clinging to him.
“You’re a disaster.”
He left me there, alone.
Later, I realized he’d been lying.
My stomach churned again, but I couldn’t stop.
“This ends now.”
He left, leaving me broken.
My body ached, my mind screamed.
But I’d never forgive him again.
Zhiyuan’s face was a mask, yet his eyes held truth.
I closed my eyes, holding on.
Someone had to protect me.
But I couldn’t let him win.
End of chapter.
「Anyone here to give me a critique? My sister-in-law’s hooked up with my brother, Ji Xiaochu’s personal life’s a mess, and there are free naked photos of her from the hotel!」
Ji Xiaochu let go of Qi Ruochen, tears streaming down her face as she looked at him: “Ruochen, don’t leave me, okay?”
I grabbed Qi Ruochen right away, not giving him a chance to hesitate. I tugged and shoved him out of the hospital room.
He’s tall-legged, I couldn’t keep up. I ran after him, sprinting a few steps before barely hopping into the car and sitting beside him.
“Qi Ruochen, you two are officially broken up now, so why keep clinging to my heart? This kind of woman isn’t worth it.”
He didn’t speak, but since it concerned his life, I had to hear him admit it myself. I started rambling nonsense.
“Today’s incident, you don’t need to thank me. I’m just a Good Samaritan…”
“Get out.”
His coldness extinguished my fiery passion. I slumped in defeat, remembering how he’d called me “wife” when he was delirious from fever. My nose felt sore.
“Get lost.”
He was heartbroken, but I hadn’t done anything wrong. I couldn’t hold back my grievance.
“Qi Ruochen, you’re always scolding and hitting me. Xiaochu cheated on you, yet you won’t even touch her? You’re just being stubborn! You deserve this.” He didn’t hit me this time or speak, just coldly shoved me out of the car. I landed hard on my butt.
He drove off, leaving me covered in dust. I thought to myself, “I’m the fool here, not him. Don’t expect me to be nice anymore.”
I dusted myself off, walked along the hospital path for ten minutes, then suddenly got my mouth covered. The world went black, and I passed out.
Chapter 25: Choice
I woke up in a small warehouse, hands and feet bound with rope, throat parched, body aching.
“Wake up?”
Ji Xiaochu’s cunning voice. I shivered, remembering she’d just slept with me. This woman must be plotting revenge.
“What’s the rush? Why bind me?”
I cowered. She hates me. My ear wound’s still fresh. Scared she’ll add more scars.
“What’s the hurry? The good part’s coming.”
Ji Xiaochu tapped her fingers. The old door creaked open, revealing a ragged stranger.
“What do you want?”
She knelt, pinching my chin: “I’m dirty, but from now on, you’ll be too.”
“Save me!”
Realizing she’d use this vagrant to humiliate me, I screamed at full lung capacity, thrashing like a dying chicken.
Ji Xiaochu stood, smiling: “You can shout louder. No one’s listening.”
The vagrant approached, drooling. I struggled and wailed. Ji Xiaochu remained expressionless.
“Ji Xiaochu!”
Qi Ruochen’s voice. He came. I knew he’d rescue me.
“You came?” Ji Xiaochu’s tone was final. “How does this involve my sister?”
Qi Ruochen noticed the vagrant, eyes wide: “How could you?”
“Rescue me, Ruochen. Please. Even if you hate me, I’m still your wife!”
I wept desperately. Xiaochu’s schemes backfired—Ruochen actually spoke for me! The plot diverged from the original. He wouldn’t be so cruel.
This was Xiaochu’s plan. She smirked: “Ruochen, I called you to make a choice!”
“Your methods are revolting. Release her.”
Changed! True to the original, Ruochen intervened. Xiaochu’s hand opened, revealing white pills: “Ruochen, my heart’s failing. If you choose Xiaoxia, I’ll end it now.”
