The River Gods Bridegroom Chapter 30

Chapter 30

My ears flushed red. “You’re shameless!”

Xie Yu suddenly leaned in close. “Then, have you ever dreamed of me?”

Right after asking, he immediately backtracked. “Never mind, forget I asked.”

I took a sip of water and whispered, “Once.”

Xie Yu turned to look at me, seemingly skeptical.

“Just once?”

Me: “Yeah.”

Xie Yu leaned back against the bleachers, smiling mysteriously.

“I don’t believe you.”

I thought he had actually figured it out.

My shoulders slumped as I confessed, “Fine. After you disappeared during our senior year of high school, I dreamed of you every day too.”

To save face, I feigned annoyance and added, “It drove me crazy. You kept pestering me to be your girlfriend every single day.”

I huffed, “I’m a goddess, you know! I’m not that easy to win over.”

Xie Yu said languidly, “Yeah, you’re so hard to pursue.”

He let out a soft laugh. “I never in my wildest dreams thought I’d fall in love with a goddess in this lifetime.”

The River Gods Bridegroom Chapter 30

Chapter 30

My ears flushed red. “Shameless!”

Xie Yu suddenly leaned in close. “Did you ever dream of me, then?”

As soon as he asked, he immediately retracted it. “Forget it, pretend I didn’t ask.”

I took a sip of water and murmured, “Once.”

Xie Yu turned to look at me, seemingly disbelieving.

“Just once?”

Me: “Yeah.”

Xie Yu leaned back against the steps, wearing an enigmatic smile.

“I don’t believe you.”

I thought he had really figured it out.

My shoulders slumped as I confessed, “Fine. After you disappeared in our senior year of high school, I dreamed of you every day too.”

To save face, I feigned annoyance and added, “It annoyed me to death. You kept pestering me every day to be your girlfriend.”

I huffed, “I’m an immortal, you know! I’m not that easy to win over.”

Xie Yu said languidly, “Yeah, so hard to win over.”

He let out a soft laugh. “I never would have dreamed in this lifetime that I’d actually fall for an immortal.”

The River Gods Bridegroom Chapter 30

Chapter 30

My ears flushed. “You shameless jerk!”

Xie Yu suddenly leaned closer. “Have you ever dreamed of me?”

As soon as he asked, he immediately dismissed it. “Never mind, pretend I didn’t ask.”

I took a sip of water and whispered, “Once.”

Xie Yu turned to look at me, seeming unconvinced.

“Only once?”

Me: “Mhm.”

Xie Yu leaned back against the steps, smiling enigmatically.

“I don’t believe you.”

I thought he’d really guessed.

My shoulders slumped, and I confessed, “Alright, after you disappeared in senior year, I dreamed of you every day too.”

To save face, I feigned annoyance and added, “It drove me crazy! You kept pestering me every day to be your girlfriend.”

I scoffed, “I’m a goddess, you know! I’m not that easy to win over.”

Xie Yu said slowly, “Yeah, you’re really hard to win over.”

He chuckled softly. “Damn, I never in my wildest dreams thought I’d fall for a goddess in this lifetime.”
