The River Gods Bridegroom Chapter 6

Chapter 6

The beer was awful—bitter to the taste and burning to the heart.

I tossed and turned for several nights, unable to sleep.

Xie Yu’s eyes, filled with hints of romance and starlight, kept spinning in my mind.

Something was wrong with me.

Taking advantage of my time off, I ran to stay with an old friend for a while.

This old friend is a true “player” in every sense of the word.

Half-mermaid, half-dragon, he spends his days wearing floral trunks, flirting and chatting up girls by the beach.

I wore sunglasses and was wrapped up tight from head to toe, lying on a lounge chair right next to him.

The coastal climate was too dry; I wasn’t quite used to it.

“Ao Xiu, out of all the girls you’ve dated, which one did you like the most?”

Ao Xiu stretched and recited his golden rule of being a player: “There is no ‘most liked,’ only ‘more liked.'”

After a moment, he suddenly realized something: “Ze Quan, are you in love?”

Me: “In love?”

Ao Xiu: “Do you have someone you like?”

I shook my head: “No, it’s more like someone seems to like me.”

Ao Xiu: “A human? Is he handsome?”

Naturally, he was handsome.
