Chapter 47
Lu Ting softened his tone slightly:
“Qiaoqiao, it’s fine, it’s fine. Take your time.”
After Lu Ting left,
Yu Qiaoqiao asked me, “Actually, I think you should be the one going out there today.
“After all, all the hard planning for so long was for today.”
I shook my head. “No, you go.
“Without you, things with the company wouldn’t have gone so smoothly.
“Not to mention the revenge.”
Someone outside came in to urge us again.
Yu Qiaoqiao gave me a reassuring look and stepped into the banquet hall.
After the host’s opening remarks, it was soon time for Lu Ting’s speech.
He took out a ring and knelt on one knee before Yu Qiaoqiao:
“Qiaoqiao, I lo—”
“Lu Ting! Screw you!! You scumbag!!!” At the entrance of the banquet hall, a haggard Bai Xuan’er was frantically pushing and hitting the security guards who were blocking her.
“You’re trash!! You’re a total dumbass! Hahaha!” Her crazed appearance made it obvious she had been pushed over the edge.
Under Lu Ting’s shocked gaze, she spoke with a tone of someone who had nothing left to lose:
“Back when you hired people to kidnap Yu Qiaoqiao, didn’t you choose me in the end?”
She was covered in tears, trembling. “Why aren’t you saying you love me now?”
I stood below, watching the show with my arms crossed, feeling quite sentimental.
It wasn’t that he didn’t love her; he just loved money and himself more.
