Chapter 57
My name is Yu Qiaoqiao, an ordinary college student.
My family background is average, and my personality is even more so.
When I was a child, because my family wanted a second child—a boy—my biological father carried me for over ten miles and dumped me in the mountains.
I was later adopted, but life wasn’t exactly happy.
At sixteen, after almost being molested by my stepfather, I had a falling out with the family and lived on my own.
I worked to save for tuition and got into college by myself.
I was a loner, not one to fit in.
I had never loved anyone, and no one had ever loved me.
But I really liked watching a boy in my class play basketball.
He was the most conspicuous type of person in school—handsome, arrogant, rebellious, and a high-and-mighty, dazzling rich kid.
I was content just watching him.
The closest I ever got to him was during a mountain climbing and rock climbing activity organized by our class.
He was the last one to wake up and arrived late, so there were only a few scattered seats left on the bus.
Wearing headphones and a mask, he walked straight toward me with tired, heavy eyes.
He glanced at me, his bass voice slightly raspy from a hangover: “Is this seat taken?”
I shook my head.
I sat there nervously the whole way, not daring to move.
Just as we were about to reach our destination,
a landslide occurred, and the bus flipped.
One of my legs was crushed, and everyone else fell unconscious.
Dragging my broken leg, I pulled everyone to safety one by one.
I had completely forgotten that the pant leg on my injured side was soaked through with blood.
When I bent down to carry him, he woke up halfway through.
He was more severely injured than I was; a large piece of metal was embedded in his abdomen, and one of his eyes was injured, covered in blood when he opened it.
He opened his mouth, gasping in pain, and after catching his breath,
he cursed: “Yu Qiaoqiao, stop moving around…
“Are you f*cking trying to get yourself killed?!”
He actually knew my name?
Suddenly, I felt it was all worth it.
After I dragged the last girl out from under the seats, I straightened up to catch my breath.
“Yu Qiaoqiao!!!” followed by a low roar from Lu Chen.
An explosion erupted, and I was thrown to the ground by a wave of heat.
“Welcome, host, to the transmigrated world. Upon completing the romance conquest mission, you will immediately receive…”
