Her Valentine’s Day – 她的情人节 Chapter 3

Chapter 3

But on Saturday, when Gu Yuyue had another date, Clock Hao waited at the movie theater for two hours, only to receive a text from Gu Yuyue saying she wasn’t feeling well and wanted to rest at home.

“Are you really sick? Do you need me to buy medicine and come over?” Clock Hao sent a worried message.

“No need.” A reply with no emotion.

After that, Clock Hao’s life was completely disrupted. Whenever he tried to get closer to Gu Yuyue, she would distance herself for a while; whenever he felt hopeless and wanted to give up, he would receive Gu Yuyue’s “love signals.”

It took three or four days to reply to a single message, plans were canceled one after another, and even expensive gifts barely made her slightly enthusiastic… The prolonged cat-and-mouse game exhausted Clock Hao both physically and mentally. His neat personality became messy, his work was often error-prone, and worst of all, his temper grew increasingly volatile, like a time bomb ready to explode.

“What the hell are you doing? The copywriting has so many errors, the boss got really angry in the meeting. Do you even want to keep working?” The manager shook the papers in his hand, finally flicking them all over Clock Hao’s face.

Clock Hao clenched his teeth and stared at the fat manager.

“You’re acting like a brat, if you don’t want to work, quickly pack up and get out!” The manager’s voice grew louder, drawing colleagues from the office to peek in.

“You motherf***er!” Clock Hao jumped up and tackled the manager to the ground. He felt a surge of anger, wanting to destroy everything in front of him.

Clock Hao had never been in a fight before, and was quickly kicked away, punched in the face, his eyes streaming with tears and snot. Colleagues came to mediate, but it was actually just pulling him aside. Clock Hao’s hands were held by others, and he shouted, “Let go of me!” The colleagues kept telling him to calm down, while the manager slapped him again: “You’re giving me a face? Get out!”

Clock Hao was pushed out of the building by security, and in his rage, he couldn’t think clearly. He took a car to Gu Yuyue’s place and angrily smashed her door.

“Boom, boom, boom…”

Gu Yuyue opened the door in a sleep shirt, seeing Clock Hao with a bruised face and a fierce look in his eyes, her heart trembled slightly, but quickly steadied herself.

“What’s wrong with you? Did you get into a fight with someone?” Gu Yuyue urgently asked, returning to the living room to get some tissue to clean his wounds.

“Why are you doing this to me?” Clock Hao forced her hand away.

Gu Yuyue’s eyes were filled with tears, like lotus petals spilling clear water, and she innocently asked, “How have I wronged you?”

Clock Hao, lacking words to express his pain, kept shouting, “You’re playing with me, you have no interest in me, why are you playing with me…”

Gu Yuyue’s lips twitched slightly, her face resembling a mask that could change expressions at any moment—now it was pity and sadness.

“When did I play with you? You clearly know how much I like you. Isn’t it because I didn’t agree to that thing with you that you’re like this? Aren’t men just focused on that?”

Clock Hao paused, his tone softening: “It’s not… I didn’t mean that.”

“Then what do you mean?”

“I don’t know how to say it.”

“Okay, okay.” Gu Yuyue gently held Clock Hao’s arm, “I know you’re not feeling well today. How about we go somewhere for a few days? I haven’t gone on a trip with a guy before, you know.”

Clock Hao’s heartbeat accelerated again, like a tamed dog being led by Gu Yuyue downstairs.

After a long night, Clock Hao eagerly waited for Gu Yuyue downstairs, dragging two suitcases with gifts he had specially bought for her, which had drained all his savings.

The scorching sun beat down on him. Clock Hao wiped his forehead with sweat and was about to call Gu Yuyue when he saw an unexpected scene.

His pure and innocent goddess, holding hands with a tall man, stepping out of the elevator. They looked intimate, with flushed faces. Even worse, that man pinched Gu Yuyue’s butt, and Gu Yuyue didn’t get angry—instead, she pretended to be annoyed and patted his shoulder.

Clock Hao froze completely, his brain went haywire, and he rushed forward, grabbing the man’s collar: “Who are you? What’s your relationship with her?”

The man kicked him away and snarled, “Who the hell are you?”

Gu Yuyue looked scared, shrinking behind the man.

Clock Hao pointed at Gu Yuyue with trembling fingers: “You… you… with him…”

Gu Yuyue acted as if she had never seen Clock Hao before, coldly saying, “This is my boyfriend. Do you have a problem? You’ve been lurking outside my home all day, what do you want?”

The moment for the catch.

Gu Yuyue used all her strength to suppress a laugh, her body slightly trembling with excitement. She even managed to squeeze out two tears, perfectly portraying the victim.

The man heard this and got angry, punching Clock Hao in the face. Being taller, Clock Hao was knocked to the ground, and the man didn’t stop, riding him and punching several more times.

“Stop it, stop it.”

Looking at Clock Hao’s blood and his pitiful, angry expression, Gu Yuyue felt a strong sense of satisfaction. She decided to deliver a fatal blow to see his further reaction.

“He’s probably a madman, poor thing, stop hitting him.”

Gu Yuyue pulled the man’s arm hard, her gaze toward Clock Hao filled with disdain and pity.

She knew all the means to pressure a man’s pride.

“Ah, ah, ah…” Clock Hao roared and lunged at Gu Yuyue, Gu Yuyue screamed, and the man kicked Clock Hao in the stomach again, leaving him finally powerless to struggle.

He stared blankly at the sky, with clouds blocking the sun.

“You’re so naughty yesterday, my legs still hurt…” Gu Yuyue, holding the man’s hand, walked away, coyly cooing in a voice just loud enough for Clock Hao to hear.

“You’re not what you asked for, right?” the man laughed.

“Naughty.”

Clock Hao was completely destroyed. That afternoon, he jumped from the 33rd floor, leaving no word behind.
