Chapter 16
In a fit of pique, I bit down on his wrist. He raised an eyebrow but didn’t move.
He let me bite him.
But since he was my benefactor, I didn’t dare go too far.
After biting for a while, I let go.
Lu Xiao, however, didn’t seem angry. He just looked at the teeth marks on his wrist and smiled.
He even teased me, “Qi Mengmeng, are you a dog?”
I bared my teeth at him, which only made him smile even wider.
As it was getting late and I was about to leave the hospital, I packed up my books and lunchbox.
He was on the phone.
I didn’t disturb him, quietly pulling the door open to leave.
“Qi Mengmeng.”
He called out to me.
From a bit of a distance, Lu Xiao’s expression was hidden in the shadows.
I couldn’t see it clearly.
“Don’t tell anyone that I’m hospitalized here.
“Especially not that girl you met the other day.”
I understood. He was the big shot of our grade, after all.
It’s understandable that he’d be concerned about his image.
Even if it were me, I’d be pretty embarrassed about having hemorrhoid surgery.
I held up my index and middle fingers to him as a sign of swearing.
But the next day after school, when I went to the hospital again,
Lu Xiao had already been discharged.
