Chapter 12
That night, when I returned home, Chu Ge covered my eyes and said he had a surprise for me.
When he removed his hands, I saw the same balloons and roses as in the garden of my house that day.
I instantly understood what Chu Ge meant.
A warmth filled my eyes, and I truly felt how fortunate I was.
“The previous one doesn’t count—I’m proposing to you again.” After saying that, Chu Ge knelt on the ground.
He slowly took out a ring from his pocket: “Xiao Xiao, will you be with me? I’ll protect you and cherish you, and never let you suffer any inconvenience.”
I didn’t speak or move, and Chu Ge looked up at me, his expression tense.
I glanced at the ring: “Is this just a confession? I thought it was an engagement?”
Chu Ge’s eyes were suddenly filled with surprise, and he grabbed my hand and quickly put the ring on: “Xiao Xiao, did you agree to marry me?”
“No.” I was a bit annoyed as I touched the ring, but he directly picked me up.
He whispered in my ear: “Xiao Xiao, I’m so happy—I waited for this day for so long.”
I blinked, and tears flowed uncontrollably.
Chu Ge was somewhat panicked and kissed my tears, slowly moving downward until he kissed my lips.
In this passionate kiss, I gradually let go of my composure, and when I came back to my senses, I had already been taken to the sofa.
“You’ll get everything you didn’t have—I’ll make up for it to you.”
Chu Ge’s voice was low and hoarse: “Xiao Xiao, it’s just us tonight.”
These gestures, these seriousness, these carefulness—everything I had never received when I was with Yu Cheng, I finally had them all.
Chu Ge gave me double what I had missed.
I gradually let myself sink into his tenderness, feeling his care.
