Chapter 12
When we got home that night, Chu Ge covered my eyes, saying he had a surprise for me.
When he let go, I saw the exact same balloons and roses from the garden at my house that day.
I instantly understood Chu Ge’s intention.
My eyes grew hot with tears. How was I worthy of this?
“The previous one didn’t count. I’m officially confessing to you again.” After saying that, Chu Ge knelt on one knee.
He slowly pulled a ring out from his pocket. “Xiaoxiao, are you willing to be with me? I will protect you and cherish you, and I won’t let you suffer the slightest grievance.”
I didn’t speak, nor did I move. Chu Ge looked up at me in confusion, his expression extremely tense.
I glanced at the ring in his hand. “Is this just a confession? I thought it was a proposal.”
A wave of ecstatic surprise instantly filled Chu Ge’s eyes. He grabbed my hand and, without leaving room for argument, slipped the ring onto my finger. “Xiaoxiao, you agreed to marry me?”
“I didn’t.” I touched the ring, feeling slightly exasperated, but he directly swept me up into his arms.
He whispered in my ear, “Xiaoxiao, you don’t know how happy I am, or how long I’ve waited for this day.”
I froze, but my tears fell uncontrollably.
Chu Ge panicked a little. He directly kissed away my tears, slowly moving downwards, until his lips met mine.
In this incomparably passionate kiss, I gradually let myself go. By the time I regained my senses, he had already carried me to the sofa.
“Everything you didn’t get, I will make up to you.”
Chu Ge’s voice was deep and hoarse. “Xiaoxiao, tonight it’s just you and me.”
This sense of ceremony, this earnestness, this careful cherishing—these were things I had never received when I was with Zeng Yicheng.
Chu Ge gave them to me twofold.
I slowly allowed myself to sink into his tenderness, feeling how much he treasured me.
