My Life is Not Yours to Control Chapter 14

Chapter 14

On this trip, Chu Ge and I visited many places. I insisted on following the exact route he had taken back then.

I didn’t expect that he, all by himself, had set foot in so many countries.

Places that felt vast and lonely even with two people—how did he endure them all alone?

We watched wild animals running on the savanna and saw the ancient pyramids.

We also embraced beneath the starry sky, watching the moonlight merge our shadows together, as if we were making up for each other’s missing pieces.

When Chu Ge pulled out the rings again, even he couldn’t help but laugh. “I’m so annoyed that I spoiled it early…”

I smiled as I watched him put the ring on my finger. He held my hand and planted a solemn kiss on it. “You can’t run away this time.”

I gave a hum of agreement. “I never planned on running.”

Shortly after we returned home, our parents began preparing for the wedding.

Even someone as fearless as Chu Ge was incredibly nervous the night before the wedding, going down to the living room to drink water.

I couldn’t sleep either, so I went out to the balcony to catch a breeze.

The cool breeze blew gently. Looking at the sky full of stars, I knew tomorrow would be a beautiful day.

I looked downstairs and saw a familiar car parked there.

Someone was leaning against the car, a red dot flickering at his fingertips. I didn’t know how long he had been standing there.

The moment he saw me come out, he stood up abruptly straight, but upon seeing Chu Ge appear behind me to drape a coat over my shoulders, he slowly slumped over again.

Chu Ge grumbled quietly with dissatisfaction, “He can see the bride tomorrow, yet he’s so impatient.”

I stood on tiptoes, pressed a kiss to his lips, and suddenly felt a bit mischievous. “Aren’t you worried?”

Chu Ge tightened his arm around my waist. “What is there to worry about? I’ve already spoiled you to the high heavens. From now on, no one will ever compare to me in your eyes.”

I smiled and held his hand tightly, only to have him sweep me up into his arms.

“Time to sleep, time to sleep. Tomorrow is our biggest day.”

Chu Ge and I had a grand wedding, and we received everyone’s blessings.

I could almost envision just how incredibly happy I would be in the future.

I am very grateful that fate gave me a chance to start over, allowing me to find Chu Ge again.

Being with the right person is what true perfection is.
