My Roommate Mocked Me for Carrying a Snakeskin Bag Chapter 3

Chapter 3

When my boyfriend came to find me, Lin Wanwan happened to be nearby.

She pulled down her sunglasses and eyed me several times.

Gu Xiaoyun and I had finally gotten together. He was 1.8 meters tall, with sharp eyebrows and bright eyes, very much giving off the vibe of a campus heartthrob.

I had spent countless nights keeping him company as he studied hard.

He always thought I was just a simple, unpretentious girl.

Or, in layman’s terms, broke.

I never told him about my family background because I just wanted a pure romance, and he never talked about his family background with me either.

Maybe he couldn’t put aside his pride.

Because I often heard people say his family was very poor.

But that didn’t matter. The poorer, the more honorable.

Right now, Gu Xiaoyun was carrying a large box of snacks.

I eyeballed it—it wasn’t cheap.

For Gu Xiaoyun, it really wasn’t cheap.

He usually praised me for being a good girl, unlike some girls who chased after material things.

Yeah, I knew Gu Xiaoyun was a man with a backbone, which was why I spent countless days and nights studying alongside him.

I took the box: “Xiaoyun, why did you buy such expensive snacks? How much did this cost?!”

Gu Xiaoyun smiled awkwardly.

He stared at me, then turned his head to look at Lin Wanwan beside me.

“Weiwei, you just started college, and your social circle isn’t very strong yet. You can share these snacks with your roommates!”

Share with my roommate?

Share with that arrogant, domineering Lin Wanwan who looks down on everyone?

In her fucking dreams!

I was just about to speak when Lin Wanwan beat me to it.

She lowered her haughty head, took one look at the snacks in my hands, and scoffed: “Typical poor people. I wouldn’t even bother buying cheap garbage like this on a normal day!”

She was wearing high-end designer clothes and holding the newest iPhone model.

That condescending look on her face truly made me sick.

I didn’t give her a good attitude either: “Heh, mind your own business!”

Lin Wanwan brazenly checked out Gu Xiaoyun, a burning look of interest in her eyes.

My heart tightened. Gu Xiaoyun was good-looking. Surely Lin Wanwan hadn’t set her sights on him?

“You’re her boyfriend?”

Gu Xiaoyun nodded.

I realized I couldn’t get a word in edgewise!

“You’ve got good looks, but your girlfriend isn’t much. Here’s my WeChat. If you ever run out of money, you can come find me!”

Lin Wanwan handed over her phone.

I immediately reacted, grabbing Gu Xiaoyun’s arm and staring coldly at this heavily made-up woman standing in front of me.

She looked pretty, but her heart was full of wicked intentions.

“What exactly are you trying to do, Lin Wanwan? You mocked me for carrying a snakeskin bag when school started, then you tried to steal my bed. And now what, you won’t even leave other people’s boyfriends alone? How cheap can you get!”

After getting cursed out, Lin Wanwan’s face couldn’t quite hold its composure.

But Gu Xiaoyun pulled me back.

Looking at Lin Wanwan.

The corners of his mouth curled up.

“Weiwei, it’s fine. She’s your roommate, I should get along with her too. Adding her on WeChat is no big deal. You’re not a little kid anymore, stop throwing tantrums!”

My eyes widened, and my heart suffered a violent shock.

Then, he introduced himself.

“My name is Gu Xiaoyun, I’m 20 years old. You must be Lin Wanwan. I’ve heard a lot of people mention you—beautiful and outstanding. Weiwei is just being immature, please don’t hold it against her!”

I shook my head numbly. For the first time, I felt like Gu Xiaoyun was a total stranger.

He never used to be like this!

I didn’t stop them from exchanging WeChats. In Gu Xiaoyun’s eyes, I was the unreasonable girlfriend, but what shocked me more was how much he had changed.

He went from that boy with stars in his eyes to someone whose eyes only saw power and wealth.

Yet Gu Xiaoyun tried to comfort me.

“Weiwei, don’t overthink it. I’m just helping you socialize. You’re so closed off, nobody else would be willing to be with you except me! I’m so good to you, and yet you still doubt me. I’m very disappointed!”

But was that really the case?

Was he sure he wasn’t just trying to PUA me?

I might not have a lot of social experience, but I wasn’t an idiot.

Like I was going to tolerate my roommate insulting me right in front of my boyfriend, only for him to add her on WeChat anyway.
