Seven Days of Love Chapter 15

Chapter 15

Tuotuo’s little face was flushed pink in his sleep, looking absolutely adorable.

I was reminded of the time right after I’d given birth to him—the hair loss, the insomnia, and having to wake up to breastfeed every two or three hours.

In the dead of night, I felt like those were the most serene moments of my life, almost like an out-of-body experience.

Yet, my mind was filled with a restless, frantic agony.

Severe sleep deprivation.

The wild pounding of my heart and the physical discomfort that washed over me every time I was jolted awake by the baby.

I felt like I was losing my mind.

Once, after being woken up yet again, I couldn’t control my temper and threw Tuotuo onto the bed in a fit of rage.

Tuotuo cried so pitifully, his little scrunched-up face looking far from cute.

But as he cried, I started crying too.

Filled with guilt and frustration, I pulled him back into my arms and patted him gently to soothe him.

Tuotuo fell asleep again very quickly.

Then, in his sixth month, Tuotuo suddenly stopped needing his night feeds.

He slept straight through until morning.

It was as if he, too, was growing as hard as he could, eager to help shoulder my burden.

He just wanted me to get a little more sleep—he was exactly like one of those “angel babies” you read about online.

Tuotuo stirred, looking like he was about to wake up.

I walked over and said, “Give him to me; he’s used to being held by me.”

Tuotuo is six now, so it’s actually a bit of a struggle to carry him.

After standing in the elevator for a moment, my breathing began to quicken.

Jin Lan suddenly reached out and took Tuotuo from me. “Let me.”

Tuotuo slept soundly in his arms. Jin Lan lowered his gaze, gently patting Tuotuo’s back.

There was a look of tenderness on his face.

This house.

It was the house Jin Lan had gifted me, which I had later sold.

When Tuotuo was one year old, he fell gravely ill.

Seven Days of Love Chapter 15

Chapter 15

Tuotuo’s little face was flushed pink in his sleep, looking adorable.

I remembered the time right after I gave birth to him—the hair loss, the insomnia, having to wake up every two or three hours to breastfeed.

In the dead of night, I felt those were the most tranquil moments of my life, moments where I felt like my soul was drifting away.

Yet, my mind was filled with irritability and a frantic, agonizing discomfort.

Severe sleep deprivation.

The feeling of my heart racing wildly and the physical distress after being startled awake by the baby would wash over my entire body.

I felt like I was going insane.

Once, after being woken up yet again, I couldn’t control my temper and threw Tuotuo onto the bed quite hard.

Tuotuo cried so pitifully, his little crumpled face looking miserable.

But as he cried, I started crying too.

Filled with guilt and remorse, I picked him back up into my arms and patted him gently to soothe him.

Tuotuo fell asleep quickly.

In his sixth month, Tuotuo suddenly stopped needing night feeds.

He slept straight through until dawn.

It was as if he was growing up with all his might, anxious to share the burden for me.

He just wanted me to get more sleep; he was truly the kind of “angel baby” people talk about online.

Tuotuo stirred, looking like he was about to wake up.

I walked over: “Give him to me. He’s used to me holding him.”

Tuotuo is six now; it’s actually a bit of a strain to carry him.

After standing in the elevator for a while, my breathing began to quicken.

Jin Lan suddenly reached out and took Tuotuo: “I’ll take him.”

Tuotuo slept soundly in his arms. Jin Lan lowered his gaze and gently patted Tuotuo’s back.

There was a look of tenderness on his face.

This house.

It was the house Jin Lan had gifted me, which I had later sold.

In the sixth month, one day, Tuotuo suddenly stopped needing night feedings.

He slept straight through until dawn.

It was as if he, too, was struggling to grow, eager to share the burden of pressure for me.

He just wanted me to get more sleep; he was exactly like one of those “angel babies” people talk about online.
