Seven Days of Love Chapter 63

Chapter 63

A moment later, the car door opened again.

It was Dad.

Hearing the commotion, he leaned in: “What’s wrong?”

I was sobbing so hard I couldn’t catch my breath, gasping as I pointed toward the house.

“Mom… Mom is gone…”

He patted my head. “Mm, I’ll bring you to see her another day.”

I stammered, “I… I can’t see her anymore…”

Carefully, I fished a scrap of a newspaper from seven days ago out of my pocket.

I could barely get the words out: “I can’t… see her anymore.

“She… she’s gone…”

He saw the headline on the scrap.

I had never seen a grown man run that fast in my life.

He even took a brutal spill around the corner of the stairwell.

He looked wretched and pathetic.

I jumped out of the car and followed him.

I saw my cold, domineering CEO father.

Sitting on the dusty floor, clutching Mom’s clothes, sobbing uncontrollably.

He cried so miserably, his whimpers growing louder and more impossible to suppress.

In the end, he even disturbed the neighbors upstairs and downstairs.

Someone even called the police.

When the officers went to help him up, I saw a look of dead, hollow despair in Dad’s eyes.

While we were being registered at the police station, he held onto Mom’s old clothes, his shoulders slumped, his spirit completely broken.

He looked like he’d aged a dozen years in an instant.

The officer asked him, “What is your relationship to the homeowner?”

He parted his lips, tears streaming down his face uncontrollably.

“Husband and wife… husband and wife.

“She… Lin Qiqi is my wife.”
