Stumbling into a Trap Chapter 4

Chapter 4

Born in a less-than-affluent county, she had barely entered college when she latched onto Lin Ruijie, a rich second-generation guy with more money than sense, instantly becoming the wealthy girl everyone envied.

But it seemed no matter how rich Lin Ruijie was, a second-generation heir didn’t have as much liquid cash on hand as a first-generation self-made man like my dad.

Two-timing like that—she was bound to capsize eventually!

After conducting a comprehensive, blind-spot-free investigation on her, I threw massive tantrums, kicking up a huge fuss and insisting on returning to China. Since my transfer application was already approved, the most my dad could do was angrily cut off my card for a while. I still had my own mother, even if she wasn’t the brightest bulb in the box.

And just like that, I arrived by Qu Fang’s side, ready to teach this girl whose ambitions outstripped her status a good lesson. Of course, if she stopped in time and pulled back from the precipice, I’d consider letting her go. After all, the difference in our social standing was too vast; she was basically striking a stone with an egg.

But she apparently didn’t see it that way.

Night fell, and the whole building went quiet. I put my phone away, ready to sleep. This bed was nowhere near as comfortable as my Simmons mattress at home, and the blanket had a weird smell, but to drive Qu Fang away, I endured it.

Not long after, a series of nauseatingly whiny, coquettish sounds came from behind Qu Fang’s bed curtain. I secretly recorded a few clips before shouting loudly, “Are you gonna let people sleep or what? Do you know what time it is?”

Qu Fang didn’t back down. She pulled open her curtain.

“So what if it’s late? You sleep your sleep, I can’t sleep, is it any of your business?”

I shot her a glance—she wasn’t even wearing clothes—then rolled over and ignored her.

Before entering the school to get close to her, I had, naturally, disguised my identity.

She still thought I was just some girl from a small county who wouldn’t dare do anything to her.

Whom the gods would destroy, they first make mad.
