The River Gods Bridegroom Chapter 32

Chapter 32

I accepted the ring, but I planned to make a final decision only after Xie Yu’s grandfather fully recovered.

When Xie Yu drove me back in the early hours of the morning,

we heard a commotion inside the house the moment we stepped through the door.

Xie Yu’s grandfather was in critical condition.

Although Xie Yu usually acted as if he had seen through life and death, I could tell he was incredibly anxious.

Xie Yu patted my head. “Go back to your room and wait for me. I’m taking Grandpa to the hospital.”

He looked back with every step, then suddenly turned around, strode back, and kissed me fiercely.

“Ze Quan, you must wait for me to come back.

“If I come back and can’t find you, I will hate you.”

He repeated those two sentences over and over.

Xie Yu was rarely like this, looking completely lost and helpless.

I knew why he said that. He was afraid I would change my mind and run off to ascend to a High God.

After the ambulance left, I saw that patch of black mist follow them like a persistent ghost.

It was like an impatient malevolent ghost about to devour the prey it had been eyeing for so long.

Oh no, this ghost is about to make its move.

I couldn’t just sit idle either.

I left a note for Xie Yu: “Wait for me.”

Embarrassingly enough, even though Xie Yu had spent so much time trying to teach me how to use a smartphone, I never got the hang of it. The only thing I learned was how to play Match-3 games.

So, I rushed off to find Rong Si.

Chapter 32

I accepted the ring, but I planned to finalize things after Xie Yu’s grandfather had fully recovered.

When Xie Yu drove me back in the early hours of the morning,

As soon as we entered, a commotion erupted from inside the house.

Xie Yu’s grandfather was critically ill.

Although Xie Yu usually seemed to take life and death in stride, I could tell he was very anxious.

Xie Yu stroked my head. “Go back to your room and wait for me. I’m taking Grandpa to the hospital.”

He kept looking back, then suddenly turned around, strode over, and kissed me fiercely.

“Ze Quan, you must wait for me to come back.

He repeated these two sentences over and over.

Xie Yu was rarely like this; he seemed lost and helpless.

I knew why he said that; he was afraid I’d change my mind and run off to ascend and become a High God.

After the ambulance left, I saw that black mist follow it, lingering like a ghost.

It was as if an impatient malevolent ghost was about to devour its long-coveted prey.

Damn it, this ghost is going to cause trouble.

I couldn’t sit still either.

I left Xie Yu a note: “Wait for me.”

It’s embarrassing to admit, but even though Xie Yu taught me how to use a phone for ages, the only thing I learned was how to play match-three games.

Then I quickly went to find Rong Si.
