The River Gods Bridegroom

Good heavens, at the most critical moment, that dog of a King of Hell, Rong Si, doesn’t know where he’s run off to.

Word is, he offended his little girlfriend a while back and went off to chase after her.

I was more shocked by that than when I heard Ao Xiu, the playboy of the seas, had finally settled down.

Even Rong Si, that sharp-tongued, die-hard tsundere, is in love?

If that’s the case, what excuse do I have not to be?

I waited for ages before Rong Si finally returned. The guy must have been dumped by his girlfriend; his face was sour and his temper was even worse.

As soon as I asked for his help, he let out a cold snort.

“Not helping.”

Serves him right for getting dumped!

I was so anxious I developed blisters on my lips.

Waiting for him had already wasted so much time.

A day in Hell is a year in the mortal realm.

Even if it was just a few hours, a long time had already passed in the human world.

I said urgently, “Help me, and I’ll give you half of my divine power!”

Rong Si smiled faintly. “All of it.”

I retorted angrily, “You vicious man!”

Rong Si replied, “I’m doing this for your own good. Once you ascend in the coming days, it’s best to have this Earth Immortal divine power cleansed away. Besides, the heavenly lightning during your ascension tribulation is extremely painful when it cleanses the marrow.”

I’ve always been easy to trick, and being anxious and flustered made me even easier.

“Fine, deal!”

Only after Rong Si drained my divine power did he say:

“I lied.”

I was furious and lunged at him, wanting to hit him.

He dodged with ease. “If you want to ascend, this Earth Immortal power is indeed useless, so I didn’t lie about that part.”

“It’s just that whether I drain it or not, it’s going to hurt like hell anyway.”
