Chapter 7
I went to see the counselor first thing the next morning, expressing that I wasn’t suitable for the position and that Jiang Qianqian would be a better fit.
The counselor said awkwardly, “My dear girl, didn’t you send me that bag to make sure I secured the position for you? Why are you changing your tune now? I’ve already submitted the name; how am I supposed to change it?”
Sent a bag?
My eyes fell on the bag hanging from her wrist. With my limited knowledge of luxury goods, I could just barely recognize it as an LV.
“Teacher, I never sent you a bag,” I said earnestly.
“Oh, oh, right. I understand,” the counselor said with a wink. “You didn’t send me a bag. This was a perfectly legal and compliant election.”
“Teacher, I really…”
“Yes, yes, yes…”
I walked out of the counselor’s office feeling incredibly frustrated.
I just don’t get it.
Who the hell is so rich and has so much free time that they’d spend this much money just to frame me?
Because of this, I was ostracized by the entire class.
Not long after, Yang Qi started dating.
She was seeing Shao Xuan, a sophomore.
Everything was going exactly as written in the book.
Shao Xuan is the head of the Student Union’s Organization Department and will eventually become the Student Union President. He’s handsome and gets good grades. But in the story, he’s a total scumbag. Later on, he thinks Yang Zheng is a wealthy heiress and does many things to humiliate Yang Qi just to get close to her.
But then, something even stranger happened.
Even my “Buddha’s Halo” profile picture couldn’t suppress this weirdness.
Shao Xuan actually added me on WeChat, hinting that he really liked the gift I sent. He claimed he was just playing around with Yang Qi and that I was the one he truly cared about.
Someone was sending gifts in my name again!
I asked Shao Xuan to send me a photo. It was an electronic watch. I did a Taobao image search and found out it cost over eight thousand yuan.
This was clearly the same situation as the bag the teacher received. It was all so bizarre, yet it fit the original plot perfectly.
“You’ve got the wrong idea. I don’t even know you; I didn’t send you anything.”
Regardless of anything else, I had to draw a line.
“I’m actually very poor. I was just looking for the Student Union to see if there were any part-time jobs for the weekend.”
“You should think about this gift thing more carefully. If I were to send you such an expensive watch just for a tiny part-time job, would I have mush for brains?” I paused, then said sternly, “Besides, Senior Shao, such expensive gifts are usually given in person. If someone is sending gifts in my name, to put it nicely, it’s a gift; to put it bluntly, it’s bribery. I recall a previous Student Union member who was framed for taking bribes, ended up with a ruined reputation, and was almost expelled.”
“You should be careful…” I was still typing when I saw the top message get retracted.
Even a scumbag, no matter how gold-digging, wouldn’t gamble with their future.
I retracted my previous two messages and deleted him in one smooth motion.
Damn it! Who is behind all this? If I don’t find out, it’s truly terrifying.
Could it be Yang Qi? But she’s been so love-struck lately, leaving early and coming home late—either chasing Shao Xuan or on her way to chase him.
We live in the same dorm and I barely even see her.
I didn’t expect that something even more terrifying was about to happen.
