Chapter 12
Luohang Feng looked down, realizing what was happening.
What was this?
She couldn’t believe it.
She stood up, her voice steady: “Your majesty, this is your fault. You must accept me, or I’ll leave you.”
The emperor’s expression changed, and he nodded. “Very well, your majesty. You are my daughter.”
Luohang Feng felt a surge of emotion, her mind racing.
She had never felt this way before.
She looked at the emperor, her eyes filled with longing.
Imperial guards approached, and the scene was interrupted.
“Who is this man?” the emperor asked.
A tall, confident man stepped forward, bowing: “I’m here to make amends.”
The emperor’s gaze softened. “Tell me about this. Why did you come here?”
Luohang Feng spoke up, her voice trembling: “Because I want to marry Li Hui. I’ll do anything to make it work.”
The emperor listened intently.
Luohang Feng felt a strange calm wash over her.
She had never felt this way since her rebirth.
She nodded, accepting his offer.
Luohang Feng turned to the emperor, her heart pounding.
“Please, your majesty, let me marry Li Hui. I promise I’ll do anything.”
The emperor smiled. “Very well. You have two choices.”
Luohang Feng hesitated, then nodded. “I’ll do what you ask.”
Luohang Feng’s mind reeled, but she stood firm.
She had no choice.
Imperial guards entered, and the emperor’s gaze softened. “You have two options. One, you can return to your family and live the rest of your days. The other… you can leave, and your family will be exiled forever.”
Luohang Feng’s heart sank.
She felt a cold certainty.
This was her fate.
The guards suddenly opened the imperial hall, and everyone looked at them in shock.
“Feng, how did you come here?” the emperor asked.
The man stepped forward, his presence commanding attention: “I’m here to demand a marriage.”
The emperor’s eyes lit up. “Oh? What are you waiting for? Let’s talk.”
Luohang Feng felt a chill run through her.
She realized the emperor’s true intentions.
This was a test.
Imperial guards surrounded her, and the emperor’s voice rang out.
“Your honor, I want to marry you!”
Luohang Feng’s mind raced.
She had no choice.
She stepped forward, determined.
“Your majesty, I’m ready to be your wife. I’ll do anything.”
The emperor’s reaction was immediate.
He looked at her with a mix of surprise and approval.
“Very well, your majesty. You have made your decision.”
Luohang Feng’s breath caught.
She felt a strange power in her hands, a power she had never known before.
She had never been a girl before.
This was her chance.

Chapter 12
Ren Jingsi remained silent for a long time, but Luo Huanghun could see the devastation on his face.
Why bother?
Luo Huanghun sighed. No matter what, there was no going back. The fate between her and Ren Jingsi had been severed in her previous life.
They returned to the camp in full view of everyone, and almost everyone looked at Luo Huanghun with pity.
When both the wife and the concubine were in danger, the husband rushed to save the concubine, leaving the wife to be carried off by wild horses, only to be rescued later.
The priority was clear at a glance.
Ren Jingsi’s actions were like a slap to Luo Huanghun’s face. The noble ladies of the capital who had once envied her were now gloating over her misfortune.
But Luo Huanghun didn’t care in the slightest. She returned to the Luo family’s camp and, amidst the indignant gazes of her family, took out the divorce agreement.
“You don’t need to worry. In two months, I will officially divorce Ren Jingsi.”
Luo Chenhui took the agreement, checked it several times, and looked at her with a hint of relief: “As expected of my sister, you know how to let go of what needs to be let go.”
Luo Huanghun smiled faintly, seeing the relief and worry in her mother’s eyes.
Just then, a eunuch arrived with an imperial decree; the Emperor wanted to summon Luo Huanghun.
When she reached the Emperor’s tent, Ren Jingsi was already kneeling on the ground, and his sister, Noble Consort Ren, was by the Emperor’s side.
A bad premonition suddenly arose in Luo Huanghun’s heart.
Sure enough, the Emperor began to question her about the divorce agreement. Luo Huanghun steadied herself and laid everything out: “Since it was a mistake, I am willing to help fulfill the wishes of others.”
Ren Jingsi suddenly spoke up, looking deeply at Luo Huanghun: “If I let Li Ling’er leave, would you be willing to stay?”
Luo Huanghun was shocked and looked sharply at Ren Jingsi. Ren Jingsi closed his eyes; this proud man was using a pleading tone for the first time: “I have failed you greatly in the past… Can you… give me another chance…”
“I came here today to request that His Majesty revoke this divorce agreement. As long as you nod, I will spend my whole life making it up to you.”
Luo Huanghun was in turmoil. She hadn’t expected Jingsi to be so desperate! He had gone straight to the Emperor!
But she quickly calmed down. Luo Huanghun knelt on the ground and said to the Emperor: “I am not willing.”
“Absurd!” Noble Consort Ren was the first to explode in anger: “My Ren family is a prestigious and noble clan; we have never suffered such a grievance! Luo Huanghun, don’t refuse a toast only to be forced to drink a forfeit!”
At this moment, the Emperor patted Noble Consort Ren’s hand, and she suddenly started to laugh.
“Of course, I am not an unreasonable person. How about this, Luo Huanghun, you have two choices: either go back and live a proper life with Jingsi, or shave your head and become a nun, and your Luo family will be banished from the capital, never to return!”
Luo Huanghun clenched her fists tightly. They were being utterly bullying!
Shaving her head to become a nun was one thing, but for the whole family to be banished from the capital—how was that any different from exile?
Ren Jingsi could no longer care about anything else. He looked at Noble Consort Ren in shock: “Sister, you can’t do this!”
Noble Consort Ren glanced at him: “Don’t forget, you are a member of the Ren family first, and Ren Jingsi second.”
Ren Jingsi lowered his eyes and clenched his fists. For the first time, he felt how despicable he was, but if… if this was the only way to keep Luo Huanghun by his side forever…
Luo Huanghun was torn. Could she really watch the Luo family be buried because of her own mistakes?
Then what was the point of her living this life all over again!
Luo Huanghun felt almost desperate.
At that moment, the tent flap was suddenly lifted, and everyone looked over in unison.
“Feng’er, why are you here?” the Emperor asked in surprise.
A tall, upright man walked in step by step. He knelt before the Emperor: “Your Majesty, you promised me a request upon my victorious return, and I have decided to come and claim it.”
The Emperor became interested: “Oh? I’d like to hear what makes you so impatient.”
Murong looked straight ahead and bowed: “I request that Your Majesty grant a marriage.”
Luo Huanghun’s heart skipped a beat.
“I wonder which family’s daughter is so fortunate to have caught the eye of the Prince of Guangling?” Noble Consort Ren was also surprised.
Everyone knew that the Prince of Guangling, Murong Feng, had a perverse temperament, was strict in governing his troops, and was heartless. Everyone thought he would die alone; who would have thought he would trade his military merits for a marriage decree!
Murong Feng looked toward Luo Huanghun. Sensing this, Luo Huanghun looked back at him.
As their gazes met, Luo Huanghun suddenly understood his eyes. Her heartstrings were struck, and she closed her eyes tightly, her hands trembling slightly.
Then, she heard Murong Feng say, word by word: “I wish to take Luo Huanghun as my wife, and I shall never fail her in life or death. I beg Your Majesty to grant this.”
His words were resonant, acting like a thunderclap in everyone’s ears.
Ren Jingsi’s body shook, and he looked up in disbelief.
Luo Huanghun felt as if a thousand deer were trampling through her heart. She raised her head, meeting Murong Feng’s confident and gentle gaze as if it were a lifetime in an instant.
