But twilight is near Chapter 13

Chapter 13

This meeting ended with the emperor’s headache.
He pushed everyone out, even ending the chase before it started.
Meng Feng refused to back down, insisting on marrying the Lady of the Yellow Lantern, but the emperor, before he spoke, promised Meng Feng he couldn’t refuse.
On the other side, everyone couldn’t ignore the pride of the Lady of the Red Ribbon and the Lady of the Purple Robe.
So he tossed the mess to the Lady of the Yellow Lantern, letting her decide when it was time to leave the household.
The crisis was lifted, but when thinking of Meng Feng, Lady of the Yellow Lantern’s heart was all tangled up.
This was the opportunity Meng Feng had offered her—his not-so-noble military skills, even his ability to save lives.
In the dead of night, she still hadn’t slept, sitting at the table, staring out the window.
Suddenly, a shadow leapt onto the room, moving like water.
Before she could react, it was already inside her room.
“Meng Feng!” she didn’t dare shout, just growling softly.
“Must you do this?” she snapped.
“Shut up!” he said, sitting down.
Her face flushed instantly, and she could barely hide her breath as he pressed his hand to her neck.
“Enough! You’re going to die!” she whispered, her voice trembling.
But the emperor’s grip tightened, and she collapsed into his arms, utterly powerless.
Even her own voice cracked.
Meng Feng smiled gently, his chest vibrating softly: “Your strength is weak, but you won’t be able to stop us.”
Lady of the Yellow Lantern’s eyes went white, the scene blurring around her.
