Chapter 10
The next time I bumped into Gu Xiaoyun was at a bar.
I was having drinks with my bestie when I saw him keeping company with a wealthy sugar mama—and a half-century-old one at that.
He saw me too.
Ever since my dad beat up the school executive, rumors had spread throughout the whole campus that my family was filthy rich.
Because my dad wore a massive gold chain.
Xiao Fei nudged me: “Look, that’s your boyfriend that you studied so hard with for years.”
In the distance, he had his arm around the waist of the flabby rich woman, his face expressionless.
He even looked slightly repulsed.
I curled my lips, feeling somewhat remorseful.
“I was really blind back then, playing the role of Wang Baochuan for years!”
Back in high school, the whole school knew I liked Gu Xiaoyun, but he played hard to get. So I acted as his simp for years, waiting like Wang Baochuan in her cold kiln.
Xiao Fei: “Come on, let’s go say hi.”
If this were in the past, my heart would have ached for him, and I would have defended him, even though he was worthless in my bestie’s eyes.
But now, no more.
I smirked: “Sure!”
Gu Xiaoyun was wearing an expensive suit that highlighted his good figure, and a bright red lipstick mark from the sugar mama was stamped on his neck.
A rich woman keeping a toy boy—it’s nothing new.
Xiao Fei approached: “Sister Wang, got a newbie?”
The rich woman took off her sunglasses, paused her swaying hips, and narrowed her eyes to examine us.
“Oh, if it isn’t Xiao Fei and Weiwei!”
Sister Wang was a business partner of my dad’s, an old acquaintance.
I never expected to run into her here today.
When Gu Xiaoyun saw us, his face noticeably stiffened.
Sister Wang grabbed Gu Xiaoyun with her pudgy hand: “I just have a taste for this type!”
I watched Gu Xiaoyun force a bitter smile, his head lowered. Back then, he told me that a young man should always chase his dreams, and that we would always be together.
Looking back on it now, it felt like a total joke.
I spoke up: “Sister Wang, I understand, I understand. Don’t forget to pay my dad those few million.”
Sister Wang agreed heartily.
I said that deliberately for Gu Xiaoyun to hear.
His eyes went wide, and he stared at me in disbelief, as if he couldn’t fathom those words coming out of my mouth.
After all, in his eyes, I was the broke loser who came to school carrying a snakeskin bag.
I gave a smug smile.
Gu Xiaoyun stared intently at me.
While his well-defined hand was gripped tightly by the rich woman.
Thinking of a scumbag like Xue Pinggui, my heart couldn’t help but clench.
I opened my mouth slowly: “Sister Wang, you even want a man this scheming and manipulative? He’s scammed so many innocent girls!”
Hearing this, Sister Wang’s face filled with rage.
She slapped his hand away: “I thought you were just in it for the money. I didn’t know you were an outright scumbag!”
Sister Wang wasn’t exactly a saint herself, but having been abandoned by her husband early on, the type of person she hated the most was people like Gu Xiaoyun.
This was going to be a good show.
Gu Xiaoyun’s face was a mix of shock and fear.
I felt incredibly satisfied.
