Seven Days of Love
During the first trimester, I didn’t have a single proper meal.
I couldn’t even keep water down.
Zhang Mi came to see me and, seeing how gaunt my face had become, pointed at my belly and scolded: “You little brat, your mom is suffering this much, can’t you behave?”
Miraculously, the morning sickness eased up quite a bit the next day.
It was as if the baby had actually understood.
The day my water broke.
I calmly put on an adult diaper, grabbed my hospital bag, and hailed a cab to the hospital.
On the way, I even had the mood to joke with the driver.
The driver: “Judging by the belly, it’s probably a boy. Miss, where is your family?”
I smiled: “I don’t have any family.”
He sighed.
“Raising a child alone is very hard…”
