Chapter 7
“Beibei, Beibei, did you hear?”
As soon as I entered the dorm, Cui Miao pulled me aside to whisper gossip. “Lin Ruijie dumped Qu Fang.”
“Bullshit! I’m the one who dumped him!”
Qu Fang suddenly howled, startling me.
“Lin Ruijie just has a bit of chump change, and he’s stingy as hell. He’s generous with himself, but I’ve been wanting to end things for a long time.”
While she was stubbornly talking tough, I was secretly clicking my tongue. That guy works fast!
But how to get my dad to separate from her became my next headache.
I gloomily scrolled through my phone.
The class monitor was rambling on in the group chat about the importance of the postgraduate recommendation spot, urging everyone to pay attention in class, etc. My eyes darkened. I used to be a good student too, but sadly, my dad never saw my progress or grades. He always felt that no matter how well a daughter studied, it had nothing to do with him or the Zhao family.
“For this postgraduate recommendation, character is also crucial. If someone with bad character gets the spot, I’m definitely going to report them.”
Cui Miao looked down on Qu Fang and was always making snide remarks.
After Qu Fang left, Cui Miao leaned in again. “What a joke, to think *she* could actually get recommended for postgrad.”
I was shocked too. “Qu Fang got the recommendation?”
“Can’t blame you for not knowing, the list hasn’t been announced yet. But yeah, it’s pretty much a done deal.”
I hadn’t dug into this, nor did I care. To be honest, as long as Qu Fang stayed out of my family’s business, I didn’t give a damn whether she went to grad school or studied abroad on a public scholarship.
However, I still underestimated this woman’s ambition.
